    yes and no.

    one way or another, race/gun rights/some controversial BS was going to be brought up in this thread. rather see the aforementioned subjects conjured up in a facetious manner, than through vehement ignorance and hate.

    you knew it was coming. right or wrong it may be :rolleyes:

    I'm sure you're right. I don't pay as much attention to the daily news as I used to.

    What made me think that is that all the data, historically, from the FBI and whatnot, points to the "typical" crazy guy as being a 20-50ish white male. Demographics explain most of that, though, I assume.

    You mean mental illness? There are 320 million people in america, even if only .001% are violent psychotics that leaves 3200 wackos out there ready and waiting to do harm.

    EDIT: Just wanted to clarify that I know this was clearly a hate crime, but nearly any mental health professional will tell you that the type of person that would kill 9 people, probably has some mental issues. Mental issues doesn't mean "unfit" to stand trial.

    No more percentage of psychotics than any other country in the world. Of course in most countries psychotics don't get unfettered access to as many weapons as they want.

    Most countries also take better care of their mentally ill. We sweep them under the rug and shoo them out the emergency room door as fast as they come in for treatment. EVEN when they have insurance.
