That's just it: He doesn't really run the team. Terry is a very good player and has more guts in the clutch than anyone else on the Mavs besides Stack. But if they don't win the championship or make the Finals, changes will be made and Terry's name gets more talk than anyone else's. A SnT for a legit center could put them over the top.

Then again, the Mavs could re-sign Terry and keep the big donut hole of a center rotation they have now. I'm fine with that.

They have more decent centers than most other teams. Diop and Damp do a good job rebounding and shotblocking for them. Besides, if this series proves anything, it's that big centers are being phased out of the game.

I definately see Cuban sticking with Terry even if they lose. He's not dumb enough to get rid of that guy. He's a cold-blooded shooter, punk or not.

Huh. Pivotal, gut-wrenching, controversial call involving Michael Finley in the final minute of a critical road Game 5 in a super-tight playoff series.

    Welcome to our hell, Dallas.

They don't need a big center. Just someone who is effective down low on offense or defense sometimes. I think Diop and Dampier are awful. Earlier in the year when Dampier was first benched because Diop was outplaying him, both guys started playing OK. But some games I saw later on they were atrocious. They are stealing from Mark Cuban. The only thing he gets from the center position is 12 fouls and a 5-10 cents worth of rebounds.

He just cost Dallas the series, and probably a title.

This is great news...All the Dallas people are whinning...Hell, he shouldn't have done it...I was wondering why TNT didn't show replay's or anything...

Cuban was funny...Something to the affect of going back the kick their butts all the way to the ugly muddy water place they call the riverwalk...

"Never underestimate the heart of a Champion".

I apologize as a Spurs fan for using this quote in a post.

    BUT

I did in 1995 on an OLD SI board while admonishing Spurs fans not to be so damned excited that Houston might beat Phoenix and come play the Spurs.

I understand why people use it now (I know at least one older lady who said it a couple of days ago; had NO idea its origin).

It's like "Not over till the fat lady sings" coined by our very own Dan Cook; it's, in fact, a great phrase - and will live forever as defending champions are struggling to advance.
