I appreciate the regular references TJ. It's touching to know you think about me so much. I know there's a thin line between love and hate, so just remember that I'm a married man.
I didn't read the whole thread, but how would this news be used to bash anti-war people? Did the anti-war people ever doubt that we'd get Saddam and his sons? I hadn't heard that argument made. In fact I'm surprised it hasn't happened sooner. Anyway It's great that they got these guys. Hopefully it will help the plight of the soldiers still stationed in Iraq.
Forgive me if you've already explained your feelings on this, but I don't remember. If you have and don't feel like typing again, send me to the thread and I'll look it up. BUT... Bush claimed that if Saddam would account for and destroy his WMD he could avoid war. If there were other reasons for war, why did Saddam only have to tackle ONE issue to avoid war? The whitehouse mentioned other bad things about Saddam, and there is no doubt that Saddam was a bad guy. But the only way that Bush ever gave for avoiding war was the WMD issue.
This was the paramount issue which, if satisfied, would avoid the imminent regime change that was being considered.
