Great news. The only question is, who did we kill on the first night of the war and who did we kill in our second precision strike on Saddam and his sons during the war?
it seems a little convenient to me. both of them together without much protection? civilian tipster? and they are taking the word of Sadaam's all too cooperative friend & general for ID confirmation, who could easily be lying (since if we believe those two are dead, they will no longer be hunted) it wouldn't surprise me if this was a staged event (staged by them not by us, although sadly it wouldn't shock me anymore if it was us). they mentioned having DNA samples of some Hussein family members so hopefully these bodies will match up to those.
It's like a video game. The more Iraqis we kill, the more stock market points we get. Odai and Qusai were "big fish", 5000 POINTS!!! SUPER ULTRA MEGA BONUS!!!!!!!!! MULTIBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They look like such wholesome young men, must have been taken at a family reunion or something.
Well, by criticizing the C in C, they were indeed criticizing the war and his support of a war. Why would they say anything if not that? What, they didn't like his stands on prescription drugs or the farm bill?
Not as big a new item as killing the two Hussein sons, but let's not forget that two more American soldiers were also killed yesterday in Iraq, before we decide that killing the Husseins made it all worthwile including the lies about Iraq being an immediate threat. ************** Two U.S. Soldiers Killed in Attacks By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Filed at 4:38 a.m. ET BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- Two U.S. soldiers were killed in separate attacks on convoys, the military said Wednesday, including one on the outskirts of the northern city of Mosul, where the sons of Saddam Hussein were killed in a firefight the day before. Spc. Brian Sharkey said the attack near Mosul happened as a military convoy was traveling near the town. He said one of the vehicles was destroyed by a roadside bomb. An Associated Press reporter in Mosul, 260 miles north of Baghdad, heard a large boom shortly before noon (5 a.m. EDT). Six soldiers were wounded in the attack, but the name of their unit wasn't immediately available. Another convoy was attacked in Ramadi, 60 miles west of the capital, Baghdad, killing one soldier and wounding two more. Witnesses told Associated Press Television News the attack happened at 10:30 p.m. (3:30 p.m. EDT) Tuesday and several Iraqi bystanders were injured. The nature of the attack was unclear. The attacks brought to 155 the number of American soldiers killed in action since the beginning of the war in Iraq, eight more than died in the 1991 Gulf War. Odai and Qusai Hussein were killed Tuesday in a fierce gun battle with U.S. forces in a villa in Mosul. cite
Doesn't 1441 deal with the problems of weapons inspections in Iraq relative to the UN? I don't know that it strives to do more. I didn't know that there were legal and illegal wars both.
How utterly inappropriate. We free Iraq of two horrible people and threats to world peace and instead of basking in this victory, you attempt to bring everyone down by reminding them of tragedies and introducing partisan bickering into the celebration. You are incapable, even for one day, of enjoying good news? Let the troops and their families enjoy this day!
Tradejorge, in a way that is my point. It isn't as easy for the troops and their families to enjoy the day as it is for chickenhawks like you, Bush and Cheney.
There are most certainly such things as legal and illegal wars. Invasion of Kuwait, illegal. Gulf War, legal. Operation Oops Bad Intel, illegal unless you're a member of the John Wayne faction of American patriotism.
Special Ops raided a house in Mosul last night and it is believed both of Saddams sons Uday and Qusay were killed in the firefight. BOOOOYAAAAHHHH!!!!! Tradejorge, in a way that is my point. It isn't as easy for the troops and their families to enjoy the day as it is for chickenhawks like you, Bush and Cheney. Well I have family over there, so is it ok for me to be happy. Even if you don't have family over there "chickenhawks" like the people you're ripping should enjoy the day because the troops that are overseas are fighting for us, maybe you should realize that before looking for any reason to rip people for being happy because the troops are successful overseason.
Give me a break, people will look for any reason to rip a person, did you know that Bill Clinton actually came close to killing Osama Bin Laden? He wasn't allowed to follow up on the camp afterwards because they were busy trying to impeach him instead of killing a terrorist who would later kill thousands of people and tear down to buildings? Clinton was obsessed with getting Bin Laden. The irony or ironies is while Clinton is being ripped for not having a "great moral compass", Clinton has given Bush full support from day one, something that helps in the world of public support since Clinton is still very popular. Clinton has even gone as far as defend Bush during this time where he's being ripped for not finding WMD. Instead of praising Bush's "great moral compass", look at it from both sides. It's easy for Bush to do things now with an all Republican house, then it was for Clinton who was always fighting Republicans. It was more politics that stopped Clinton from doing anything then it was Clinton watching genocide because he didn't have a conscience. Especially since Clinton is still covering for, supporting and defending Bush.
A friend of mine wrote this: Thinking out loud: Two hundred troops from the most highly trained, highly skilled military in the world (according to most AmeriKKKans) . . . Four Iraqis (none of them soldiers, one of them only fourteen) . . . A Six hour firefight . . . Is there something wrong here or is it just me? Should Junior Bush be bragging that it took two hundred U. S. troops six hours to kill three Iraqis and one child? Interesting perspective to say the least Rocket River
What is with the gratuitous Ku Klux Klan reference? You should be above posting or reposting that, RocketRiver.
Clueless. What are you trying to say with the klan reference? That the administration is racist? On what grounds do you claim that?
Hi, RM, Just for the record, I came to this thread to celebrate originally, and I've even posted an interesting (IMO) article about the horror of those brothers. When I found that this good news was being used as a platform for bashing liberals and anti-war people, then I responded. I think other more liberal posters have had a similar reaction. It's kind of sad. But I will continue to rip into people who say I don't support the troops just because I don't support the neoconservative wet dreams. Anyway, congrats to your relatives involved. They're doing incredibly difficult work. I'll put in a prayer for the safe completion of their duties and a successfully rebuilt, completely free Iraq.
While I respectfully disagree with your claim that the good news was being used to 'bash liberals', how would this be different than glynch or rimrocker using bad news in Iraq to bash the Administration? Answer: It's not.
I wanted it to be accurate to the spirit of his letter Leaving it out would have taken away from the 'texture' of his message. Normally I paraphrase or not use a quote Editing it seem like i would be editting him Rocket River What's wrong with Amerikkkah?
Plenty...Thankfully, I live in America. I observe the true contract and not the degradation of negativity which can create defecation of hope and dreams. Keep hope alive and make a differance!...Ease your mind and relish deliverance... p.s. keep smiling
