When did we as a society decide that concern and empathy are passe? It seems now that every single tragedy is simply a race to see who can come up with the wittiest line.
They said they don't think there are specific laws against weather balloons. Considering Ft. COllins is so far from DIA, they doubt there was any kind of regulations.
You'd think it would have had to have been pretty high or they would have seen it fall and know where he was right? I mean for them to not have seen where the box fell and already have known where he was the thing would have to have drifted pretty far.
Because tragedy exists all around us every second of every day, and it's funny when something goofy/out of the ordinary (but no more tragic than the regular occurrences of tragedy) like this occurs and people race to feign concern and empathy.

Yeah, they just had a reporter on and he said the police told him they think it reached 15,000 feet. It would be only 17 degrees up there with large amounts of wind. Some expert said the child would have a difficult time surviving the altitude alone, regardless of the fall.
I have to say I agree with his. While I hope the kid is ok I'm more intrigued with all the twists in this story than I am sad over this kid potentially being dead.
