Fine. I'll be more specific. I don't think it qualifies as anything more than a local curiosity, and I don't understand why it's taking up time on CNN (which I am watching). If local Colorado stations want to show it, I don't really give a crap, but I think there are more relevant world issues that could be covered on national news broadcasts. I don't mean to b a "dick" to you, but you come into a thread where people are following a story and basically say it isn't worthy of attention which implies those who are paying attention are somehow ignorant/foolish/inferior to you because we are following it instead of other more important stories by your estimation. You wonder why you wouldn't get a positive reaction?

Probably because you came into the thread talking about how we should be more concerned with the bombings in Pakistan, which should have it's own thread to be discussed. Your tone was almost scolding folks for talking about this and watching it (though it didn't bother me) As far as CNN covering it...this is probably something that has never happened before and people were watching it...better ratings than devoting an afternoon to the innocent victims in Pakistan.
It isn't a story because there's a child missing, there are thousands of missing children in America, it's a story about a hot air balloon, and I don't get what's so compelling about that. Regardless, I was really just responding to justtxyank's repeated comments about me wasting my life on a basketball message board, when frankly I'm not on here particularly often anyway.
