I remember the few times Von did start he was dropping 15 points or more a night. I don't know why the hell they pulled him from the starting lineup, I think we won all but the game against the Lakers when Von started over T-mac. Hopefully Morey's stat nerds will notice this and sign him up.
In my eyes, the ony advatage Von has is his shooting touch might be a little better than Ron's. Ron could make our team defense become more perfect, and his steals is far better than any players of this team. Honestly speaking, I don't think catch-and-shoot type player Von Vafer is much much much more efficient and better than Ron.

Smart move by Rockets. The fact is I assume we were thinking it was the last push for both Tmac and Yao. We have to face the Fact which is Yao is most likely on his way out and so is tmac. Ron wants to win a ring and he will hop on that bus elsewhere. Pick up some fresh new faces and a truly new superstar and we will be on our way to that championship. We will be alot closer than we think.
Pretty bad to just offer a 1-year deal. I'd be really offended. Quickly this team is losing its identity. This city embraced Ron and vice versa, and passionate/intense players like him don't come around often. I also don't think he was looking to break the bank either, which makes this even more of a head-scratching move on Morey's part.
I'm appalled that we're only offering a 1 year deal to Ron while I thought all along that bringing back Ron was a top priority for the Rockets. Gosh this has been harsh couple weeks for us Rockets fans and the organization. All the optimism of Yao returning healthy next season, resigning Ron and keeping last years team intact, and getting valuable players in return for Tracy's contract, is now vanished. No draft day deals, Yao's devastating situation, not resigning Ron, and the unknown situation with Tracy have turned this optimistic offseason into a disaster. From all the optimism of taking the champs to 7 games without 2 stars, to having to start over and rebuild, this has been almost an unbearable turnaround of fortunes. I can't imagine being in Morey's shoes during these rough times.
