Was it wrong for Australia to come out with the satellite debris finding and not actual evidence? It seems like they should have kept it on the down low until they actually found something and visually made the connection. It started out as some grand announcement from the PM at a parliament session and now here we are with nothing so far. Why put the families through that...shatter their hope on something that is unconfirmed...as in premature wreckulation?

    Lol niceee..

I personally think it was wrong. They should not have announced that until they were sure what it was. The images were from last Sunday? I mean why couldn't a plane check it out then and there? The news cares more about getting the views and clicks than it does putting confirmed information out there. It has been the same redundant thing over and over again.

I think a person has a better chance of avoiding radar.

You know after seeing some of the Top Gears in that area of world (north of Malaysia), I wouldn't put too much faith that they could see a 747 fly over their control towers.

They definitely aren't going to come out and say, we can't see !@#.

The images were collected by a private satellite company, not Australia or some other nation that was searching for the plane.

At the time the images were collected, Malaysia was still leading the world to believe the plane crashed in the ocean between off the east coast of Malaysia. That's where everyone was searching. Malaysia sat on crucial information that would have led people to search in the south Indian ocean. That satellite company has said it is not their job to search through images looking for things. They collect the data for use by others.

Once it became apparent that we needed to search down there, the satellite company began combing through their files and found these images.

It was absolutely wrong and disgusting. Seems like in looking to get some attention, they put the families through more misery.

If you are not sure, dont hold press conferences.

I questioned AU for the announcement at first, but considering there are many different parties involved (military, satellite company, commercial ships, etc.) from several different countries, well, that's a lot of people involved who don't answer to one central authority. I'm sure the search would have been leaked, so rather than leaving it to the media and "unnamed officials" to trickle out half-truths they are making it clear what is going on. If it was possible to keep the search under wraps that would be best, but I don’t think it is, so better to make it open and clear.

I'd agree with this. Especially, given the timing.

It's been two weeks now with way more questions than answers. We're at the point where these countries need to wait until they have something concrete before coming forward with it and generating media buzz.

I think I was like 9 years old or something when I first saw this movie, and to that point in my life I don't think I ever laughed so hard at a movie scene.
