    I agree.
Minorities are being shafted once again!
The Native-American is getting hammered by disease! Again! What a surprise!

    Let's be honest:

Minorities depend on public schools more than whites, and that's why people don't care about public schools.

Extra-unhealthy products such as menthol cigarettes and malt liquor 40's are targeted to Blacks and everyone knows that.

The legal system is prejudiced against Blacks in 1) arrests, 2) going to trial, 3) convictions, 4) severity of sentences. (Prisons are a great place for American Black men to rack up high COVID numbers.)

Images of minorities on TV still tend toward the sweaty, greasy, nervous criminal variety. This does not inspire minorities to become rocket scientists.

[Feel free to add your own truths. . . .]

    SCHOOLS'S

    OUT

    FOR

    THE SUMMER

seriously bro I don't want to rehash these arguments. Even if everything thing you believe about systematic racism is true, we can still do better against the virus

Then it seems we're in agreement!
By the way, school's about to be IN for me. I teach.
(Speaking of which, the absence of minorities is clear at my college. No, I don't blame the students. There's so much to say about education. . . .

Back on the Georgia-South Carolina border where I lived one time unfortunately, all the white kids went to church school, and all the Black kids went to public school. I taught at the university there. At that particular university, Blacks were well represented. But they were 90% female, for some reason. . . . I had to visit a local high school about one mile away, for "service." It was shocking. It was chaotic, with a strong counter force of control, like a prison. The students were going apeshit every second, and the teachers were acting like prison guards every second. And it was 95% Black.

I sat in with a class for an hour, to do tutoring. All the students were Black, and the teacher was a white guy about like me. During the entire class, all he said was "Mr. Daniels, sit back down! Mr. Jones, close the door. Mr. Daniels! Mr. Smith stop doing that please. Page 79! Mr. Daniels!" My impressions was: these kids don't know how to act. Especially the boys. They don't have dads at home. And their moms can't control them anymore. And they're bouncing off the walls. And missing their education.

In the hallway, women teachers were yelling at girls walking in a line, and the girls kind of needed yelling at, like a jail. Nothing would happen in this school without yelling, for some reason. Anyway, that was the local public school (for the Blacks) that I saw in old GA.)

I didn't put words in your mouth. Your posting history since taking over this account speaks quite loudly.

    Agree.
Just like the violent few protesters giving the decent ones a bad name, the same goes with a small percentage of conservative loonies giving the rest a bad rap.
I'm certain there will be loony liberals out there too.
I don't see people walking around with political affiliation IDs stamped on them anywhere so how it is known these fools are all conservatives in the first place?

Bro I get it. But that's not systematic racism. That's broken homes no discipline

The government, jeff bezos, the koch brothers, whomever can't solve that problem.

    @FranchiseBlade

My main point about education and poor blacks has always been at some point the problem has to be addressed from inside the home

As much as you get riled up by my posts I'm sure sure this is at least the tenth time you have seen this from me

At some point it doesn't matter how the problem started, if blacks are victims of systematic racism, eventually a victim has to take responsibility in their recovery.

I would post in the thread about groups who are actually statistically not doing well but all I kind find is this thread about people who just complain about complying.

Can you point to the thread about how actual groups are actually handling the virus? TIA

I've already found about 3 threads similar to this thread

@pgabriel What are you talking about and what is the connection to the article in the first post? Is this a continued conversation you are carrying over from a different thread?

Americans aren't doing well, the poor are always hit the hardest. African and Native Americans always have the worst health outcomes. Now let us yell at the blacks and natives until they stop dying.

    Hi

This is the connection. Conservatives are doing okay. The group that is not is blacks. I wish people would tell the truth about who isn't doing well so we can help them do better

All you sensitive beyoches, I'm not trying to criticize my people, I would like the media to be honest in an effort to help my people do better

Firsts off National Review thanks but you're about five months too late.

Second yes this disease is hitting minorities harder than white. That doesn't mean that white people are immune from the disease. There are a lot of white people who have gotten it and died from it.

Third I've said this before that I don't think enough Americans on both sides of the ideological divide are taking it seriously enough that said Conservatives are the ones that I see actively working against the measures to fight it. There was a protest yesterday against the statewide mask mandate at the MN State Capital. Looking at that crowd I'm pretty sure there weren't a lot of people planning on voting for Biden.

I don’t think the article was arguing that conservatives are somehow more impacted health-wise than other groups. Rather, they have been less willing than they should be to heed the advice of medical authorities, for apparently political reasons. How they compare in that regard to other groups is not addressed.

I think it’s pretty well documented and understood that black people are dying at higher rates compared to the average population. What is the main reason for this, in your view? Higher prevalence of pre-existing conditions, lack of access to quality health care, tending to live in more densely populated urban areas, all seem to be relevant factors to me. What else?

@durvasa do you not see an issue with lambasting the Trump Tulsa rally but praising protesting out marching on top of each other

They checked temperatures in Tulsa. They do that at protests?

    @durvasa

When Eric Garner died I said the story shouldn't be police brutality it should have been black health

Fat ass asthma having smoker dies of asthma after brief skirmish

The media isn't doing blacks favors by ignoring truth out of sensitivity. That eventually comes home to roost
