The cowardly liars running the Republican congressional delegations need to realize that tribalism goes both ways. Impeachment is obviously the proper remedy for the nation here for so, so, many reasons - not just Russia but his overall unfitness and the danger he presents to all human life - but they are too afraid to use it because either/both: 1) they think they wont' get to the policy outcomes they want But this one is obviously wrong, - They can barely do this anyway, and Pence is probably better for them becuase he's not a ****ng loon like Trump who will sabotage negotiations with a dipshit tweet. Don't get me wrong, Pence is still a smarmy idiot, but he's probably better for getting the evil plans of Republicans thorugh the house. 2) they are afraid of Trump's base deserting them/primaries whatever The limits of Trump's base and the mirage of bannon etc were on full display earlier this month with an absolute electoral beatdown, but anyway they need to realize that tribalism works both ways. The same absolute ****ing insanity that lets Republicans in Alabama vote for an honest-to-goodness child rapist for Senate will lead them to also to vote for Trump's Republican deposers because at least they're not on the other team.
Now that trump's defense is that it is all Flynn and his lying ways... lets review what Trump has said about Flynn in the past: Then Trump for some reason tries to shift blame for this very good man on Obama for some reason... And of course, who can forget what Trump said to former FBI Director James Comey. The FBI Director he fired for not taking it easy on Flynn... And of course, there is always a Trump tweet... http://www.businessinsider.com/trump-defending-mike-flynn-2017-5[/QUOTE]
Between gerrymandering, voter suppression, the ongoing court packing, FoxNews propaganda and the Sinclair propaganda campaigns on local news stations, GOP leadership may feel confident they can still take the next election. As their electoral/polling outlook worsens, they may just double down on their efforts to ensure they pull out electoral victories. The GOP could lock in their tax cuts for the rich (and in the process set up future cuts to Medicaid/Social Security) and turn on Trump, too. But I'm concerned on how it plays out should they decide to double down on corruption.
If Paul Ryan were to flip, and suddenly become the lightening rod for the GOPs return to old values, I could see him securing the presidency in 2020.
That’s a good line to use today as a Trump fan, but the truth is, in a plea deal, Flynn is lucky he does that this charge to take to avoid the more harsh charges he’s got hanging over his head and his sons head. Anyone saying this nonsense today as if the only thing he did wrong was lie is insulting our intelligence.
What do republicans say whenever privacy rights are violated and the victim is not white, oh right, if you did nothing wrong you got nothing to hide. So violating your privacy isn't a big deal.
What I'm getting from all of this is STAY AWAY FROM TRUMP! People that get close to trump end up getting in trouble. If Trump calls don't answer the phone. Everyone that gets involved with Trump will end up regretting it.
Again, the democrats will decide every election from here till the end. Republicans have high voter efficacy and rarely deviate from party. Democrats have low voter efficacy, and even when they vote sometimes vote against parry. If the dems fall asleep and don't vote, a conservative will always win. Sure, there are swing voters, but look at the numbers Obama drew versus Trump and Hilldog. People wanted to vote and wanted to vote for him. Ryan knows this, and for him, he just has to make a strong enough case to escape the primaries while hoping dems get voter fatigue once again. It's more than possible imo.
I completely agree. The Democratic Party often suppresses it's own votes by not getting their voters to show up at the polls. And that turnout becomes ever more important as the institutional obstacles to electoral victory increase. In the end, we are talking about relatively small numbers in a handful of states that will determine the presidency. So a focus on turnout and party is paramount.
