Trump and his team are racking up charges and cutting deals like they're a bunch of mobsters. I honestly bet they're proud of that.

It is amazing how dangerous he is. I really wonder what the defense of the Trump apologists currently is. Is it
    1: He didn't do this.
2: he did do it but it is not bad.

I truly fear a sort of civil war will happen in the US in the not so distant future.....

This throws a wrench into the feds' plan for sure.

They wanted to sift through all of Trump's papers (presidential records or not) for dirt they could leak to NYT/WaPo. Special master makes that harder.

They wanted to indict Trump before the midterms to boost turnout, and the special master process slows everything down.

The judge noted the DOJ leaks like a sieve about Trump, so a special master is needed. DOJ proceeds to illegally leak the very next day.

    Lol.

Trump supporters on days with an odd date: No fair. The Justice department has no transparency! How can we trust them! If they have nothing to hide, they should show us what they have!

Trump supporters on days with an even date: No fair! How come they are showing us the evidence they have? That stuff should all be private and redacted. They are so mean to Trump.

In addition to the other problems with the special master is that the DOJ already completed their own review of the documents and know what is in them.

That is pretty heavy if it is true..... and you are usually not one to go overboard or sensationalize.

If that is indeed what happened, then there will be a lot of fall out.

I don't see how he survives such a thing.

My issues with the Republican party has nothing to do with being conservative. It's getting all the r****ds all worked up. It's the literal marketing and appeasement to the not bright.

Does it really? Honestly, most likely it does not. They are going to get to the same destination point. William Barr even said as much.

I could be wrong, but I believe they have already been through all of his papers so that part doesn't make much of a difference.

They don't need to sift for "dirt", Trump did all of this to himself.

All the reports have been that they would not indict Trump until after the midterms. Also, the Democrats wouldn't necessarily benefit from an indictment before the midterms.

The Judge was a Trump appointee and the overwhelming majority of legal scholars are critical of her ruling, including the man that was Trump's Attorney General.

If the federal government decides that a Special Master is really that large an impediment, they can appeal the ruling and have a very high likelihood of winning on appeal.

I find it interesting that you are concerned that the Justice Department is allegedly leaking information about Donald Trump and are not concerned that you support a former President that is accused of serious crimes, and did not put the interest of the USA above his own interests. Do you ever hold him accountable in anyway?

If the report is true I can’t really think of an innocuous explanation. Like did he just have Britains defense plans to laugh at them at parties?

Well I suppose there are a few ways to look at it.

On one hand they are largely incompetent and they pander.

On the other hand, they win at least as much as they lose, and what does that say about the democratic party and the American people?

Someone like Lindsey Graham isn't even good at pretending he doesn't grift. He puts it right out there and no one cares.

Graham, Trump.... Cruz..... all highly unprofessional but all have won elections and big elections.

That is the conclusion that I reach as well.

With Trump it is possible that he has plans from GB or France and kept them for pure ego purposes.

The reality is we can even debate which is worse.

If I am an ally of the USA, and I find out that their former President has top secret information on our top defense weapons sitting in boxes in a resort (which anyone with a brain knows the Chinese and Russians have tried to get spies into), I am going to be furious and not trust the competency of the USA going forward. Can you imagine in a nation did that to us, what our response would be?

Making it all worse is that it is all playing out in public, like some sort of reality soap opera. I know that some democrats are excited that Trump may finally get caught, and some republicans are wearing blinders to all of this - but this is REALLY bad for the USA and our allies. This isn't a reality show or soap opera. There are really consequences to our country and the world going forward.

All of this causes real concerns about the mechanisms we have to stop incompetence and criminality at the highest levels going forward.

If Trump is clearly guilty of a crime, and he gets away with it - or it ends up some how in front of the SCOTUS and the Court lets him get away with it - it will have seismic consequences through out our society for possibly generations.

I have no idea about what Trump was doing or was planning to do with any of these documents. I don't believe he read them or understood them if he did read any of them, so he wouldn't know what he had to sell. There might be a few possible exceptions if they were directly related to him.

He might have just grabbed some things with the intent of selling and let the buyer pick and choose what they wanted to buy. He wouldn't have to know.

But all of that is just a guessing game at this point. No point in distracting from the crimes. If it turns out that he wasn't selling the information people will say "See he wasn't trying to sell anything! You were wrong all along and it was a huge setup."

The dangerous thing is that anyone including foreign agents could easily get in that office and see them without paying a cent. They could do that even if Trump hadn't intended on sharing.

The bottom line, is that Trump had documents which are threat to our national security. What he was intending to do with it would just be additional charges, if it was further criminal activity.

Trump revealed a highly sensitive Israeli special force mission to Russian officials in 2017. That was publicly known. I think all of our partners have already limited intel sharing with the US since it was known that Trump doesn't protect intel. Now with this (even before the nuke report), no one would ever want to share anything sensitive with the US. The damage was already done and is getting worse.
