I see why he treated the Mueller report the way he did. It benefitted the Party as a whole, not just Trump. Now Trump does not benefit the party. Look at all the MAGA candidates who won their primaries. Based on polling alot of them can't win the general. The GOP has pulled funding for several Senate races. I am not sure if they have pulled funding from House races. The mainstream Non-MAGAs know Trump is a drain on the party as a whole.

Do u also believe it’s not a sign of racism and wanting to protect slavery? Because he said that too. I no longer care to understand the thought process of MAGA mindless drones. They are too far gone. No minds will be changed

I think largely this. Barr is smart enough to know how much trouble Trump is in and also how weak his defense is. He likely doesn’t want him or the rest of the GOP to be dragged down with Trump.

While I don't think the majority of the republicans politicans are MAGA. Trump has a sizable hold on the republicans voters, hence the lack of condemnation. Trump is gonna drag the republican party down whether they accept him or not.

Kinda stuck in a hard place. Condemn trump, the MAGA voters might end up not voting causing them to lose out on more seats in the house/senate. Defend Trump, more dems voters will vote since they can't stand Trump and the MAGA folks.

Do nothing, Trump is just gonna call you out and attempt to replace you with his cronies.

Should have impeached him or do something when they had the chance.

Oh for sure for the folks waving it nowadays. I think the confederacy flag should only b displayed in museum as a reminder to how our nation almost got divided into two b/c of traitors, and racists.

Being proud of southern culture. Basically saying you were proud of the folks that were racist, traitors or slave owners

A document describing a foreign government’s military defenses, including its nuclear capabilities, was found by FBI agents who searched former president Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and private club last month, according to people familiar with the matter, underscoring concerns among U.S. intelligence officials about classified material stashed in the Florida property.

Some of the seized documents detail top-secret U.S. operations so closely guarded that many senior national security officials are kept in the dark about them. Only the president, some members of his Cabinet or a near-Cabinet-level official could authorize other government officials to know details of these special-access programs, according to people familiar with the search, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive details of an ongoing investigation.

Documents about such highly classified operations require special clearances on a need-to-know basis, not just top-secret clearance. Some special-access programs can have as few as a couple dozen government personnel authorized to know of an operation’s existence. Records that deal with such programs are kept under lock and key, almost always in a secure compartmented information facility, with a designated control officer to keep careful tabs on their location.

But such documents were stored at Mar-a-Lago, with uncertain security, more than 18 months after Trump left the White House.

I figured after this fiasco there should b new laws on how to handle this type of scandal and new protocols to prevent this from happening again. The only good thing that came from trump as president is that he's literally limit testing our laws that we have created for this nation. If nothing is addressed or fixed we have only ourselves to blame when a smarter trump takes over.
The reliance on good faith or honor system is a joke and dead in this political climate

Trump had inspired a lot precautions to try and avoid the crap he's attempted thus far.

Speaks poorly for his time in office

the way the DoJ refuses to comment while at the same time leaking unverifiable dirt like crazy to their lackeys at the WaPo/NYT severely damages their credibility

No it doesn’t to most people. It probably does to people that think Infowars and NewsMax are suitable news sources…. But those people will never believe Trump is incompetent or dangerous or doesn’t have the American peoples interest at heart.

How many times are you going to be wrong? You keep claiming the DOJ is leaking stuff. You haven't shown the proof that they have.

But we know for years they didn't leak anything about Trump not handing over classified documents. They didn't even leak the raid on MAL. It was Trump who broadcast that and drew attention to it.

All of this would have been under the radar if Trump had

    1. Not hidden, lied, refused to comply with legal subpoenas and returned the documents.

    2. Not made public the FBI was at MAL.

But instead, Trump announced it asked for warrants and affadavit to be released, so the DOJ did what Trump asked.

TRUMP HAS MADE ALL OF THIS PUBLIC NOT THE DOJ.

So now for Trump supporters to cry because details come out in the public, that's on Trump and not the DOJ.

Question - is there anything that will convince you Trump did something horribly egregious here?

Trump thinks rules do not apply to him and that he is above the law. I hope that he will be proven wrong and that he will be held responsible with the full force of the law. He has shown that he is unfit to run again, and he should be barred from it.

A conviction or message would go a long way into making claims about one party weakening our institutions less legitimate.

Wealthy and powerful folk get away with too much in Washington.

    The Swamp works both ways.
