S Jack hit a lot of big shots for them and they tossed him away. He was their most consistent offensive threat after Duncan and a solid defender. They really missed him last year and no-D no-nuts Brent is not close to a true replacement. Manu getting more consistent this year has made up a lot for it, but S Jack all around is still better than their other wings, Bowen has major offensive flaws, Barry major defense flaws, and Brown just isn't that solid yet.

Actually that Nets team was pretty good and matched up relatively well. The Spurs that year were not that much better than a lot of teams and may not have had the best team had other key players not got injured--CWebb, Dirk, Fox/George off their chief competition. Remember Horry missed a wide open 3 off for a depleted Lakers squad or the Spurs have to win the last 2 games just to advance to the 2nd round. That Spurs team was a very good team--a lot like the current Spurs team where there are at least 3 or so elite teams in the league, but not a dominant team. The only dominant Spurs team substantially better than their competition was the 99 title team. Outside of trying to make AJ beat you with the outside shot, that was a very complete team where there wasn't an easy angle to try to exploit like there was on the recent Spers teams.

Spurs creating some space. I think the bench got 'em to a point where the starters are going to finish it. Ginobli and Duncan have energy late and that should carry them.

duncan is an all-time great but ginobili (who i hate) is the catalyst for that team. he deserves the MVP for the Finals.

That is a typical Spurs game. They lock you down in the last 5-6 mins of the 4th QT and you can't do nothing about it.

I hate Spurs but they are good.

Whew. For a few minutes there, I was afraid we were going to be the team that lost to the team that lost to the team that lost to the team that lost to the team that won the finals.

Sorry, Bulls! Better luck next year!

I dunno...5 turnovers and 10-27 to get 25 points. Doesn't seem like he's doing it all. His shooting percentage has stunk all series and he's looked lethargic offensively more often than not. Meanwhile, like someone said, Manu was the real catalyst going 8-13 for 23 points tonight.

Manu is a winner, Duncan is a winner, and Horry is a winner. I don't like them, but they proved it again and again they can win.
