Take away the middle of the floor from Ginobili and Parker and then isolate Parker on offense with Billups or whoever he is guarding and force SA to bring help. These are the keys to having a chance to beat the Spurs. The Pistons have accomplished them the last 2 games.
Cat I think more than the "home court" it is adjustments and series momentum. If SA can't find something that works, even if they lose a close game 5, I don't see answers at home. These are great road playoffs teams and Detroit is a great series closer where ever they are (see their record over the last 2 years). The Spurs have 3 days to find new weaknesses in Detroit's defense and a way they can play with offensive efficiency. I think Parker or Manu is going to have to go off. As we saw with the Lakers/Heat series, Det can live with 1 guy going off (Shaq) if they take away everything else. The only time Detroit's defense looked to meet their match in two years was when Wade and Shaq were dominant (before Wade's injury). Manu or Parker has to be the Wade for them.
I doubt either one of them could do better than Shaq against the Wallaces. You really think Yao would be able to push around the Wallaces in the post if Shaq and Duncan are having so much trouble?
If the Refs let the game be physical - Game Pistons If they call it tight - Game Spurs McDyess is have a great series Rocket River
This series seems reminiscent to last year's Lakers-Spurs series. The Spurs won the first 2 games against the Lakers convincingly, thanks to 2 great games by Parker. Everybody was predicting a sweep. Then the Lakers made adjustments limiting Parkers game and ended up winning the next 4 games. Popavic had better come up with something to get Ginobili involved again or the Spurs are toast.
Shaq hit 27PPG in the finals series versus the Pistons last year on high % shooting, I really doubt Amare or Yao could have done that.
Wouldn't surprise me one bit if SA won in 7 after taking the final 2 home games to make it a home sweep series.
The Spurs should win the series. With the 2-3-2 format - it does tend to let Detroit back in the series. I would love to see Detroit win- as I am a Spoors hater. I really respect Tim Duncan ( the Spurs are soo lucky the ping pong balls fell right)and Ginobili, but I cannot stand that dirty Bruce Bowen... I think Pockovich is a very good - excellent coach who deserves his props, but I really cannot stand the guy. RC Buford has done an outstanding job of adding talent. Most of all I do not like the obnoxious Spurs fans - they have been so confident since the playoffs started they would win. Love to see those Spurs lose- we can call them chokers. No doubt Spurs will win though.......
1. Rasheed! Numbers don't do him justice. 2. Billups is having an awesome game. 3. Ben Wallace is doing his thing. 4. Prince and Rip are doing there thing. 5. Mc Dyess is good. 1. Horry is the MAN! 2. Duncan is having a great game but these missed free throws will probably cost them the game. 3. Manu is having a great game as well. 4. Parker is SSSSOOOO predictable.
Bout time! Billups time! Redemption for Duncan? Or will it be Manu? Billups forced it, Hamilton had Parker on him. Oh well.
That was a pretty vicious dunk there by Horry. I remember when he did stuff like that in the playoffs in his years with the Rockets.
As a rockets fan, we have to root for Horry. He's the only one on that spurs team with any semblance of having testicles.
