I don’t think it’s odd. I think it’s denialist. This has been the case for most major news stories that would paint Trump and other politicians who support this quasi white nationalist identity. They talked nothing about Niger. Nothing about people dying in Puerto Rico. And near nothing about this investigation except pushing this theory that it’s all a Clinton conspiracy.
So they are in denial about something that no one knows anything about except for a vague leak from CNN. Okay.
Well...I mean, he should. There's an obvious conflict of interest that gives the appearance of impropriety and it's his responsibility to step down to avoid the appearance of impropriety. That said, there's plenty of information out there about the reasons why Meuller should step down, there's not much valid information about what is going on with the investigation, thus you talk more about things you know more about. I imagine if the CNN leak happens to be accurate this time, we'll hear a LOT more about this if someone is actually arrested and we know who they are going after. Right now, we know basically nothing. For all we know, they could be targeting anyone.
OK. Why should he step down? I've read the WSJ editorial from this week and it purposely obfuscates the reason why there is an investigation at all. This investigation was not about Trump or the dossier. And Hillary and the DNC did not create this dossier. There would not even be a special prosecutor if not for the fact Trump demanded Comey pledge loyalty and say he was not being investigated for his Russian ties and let the whole thing go and Comey refused.
Mueller's pre existing personal relationship with Comey is a conflict of interest when it comes to essentially investigating why Comey was fired and that's something Mueller knows. I mean, for that reason alone, he shouldn't have accepted the job because he had to know that was an inappropriate conflict of interest that would lead to the appearance of impropriety. If he was an ethical investigator, he'd either step down or have rejected the job outright. If I was in his shoes and I was asked to investigate why a friend of mine got fired, I'd refuse the position for exactly that reason.
It'll probably be Flynn or Manafort at best, and likely a low level nobody. Anyone higher than these two are still very well protected. I mean Trump Jr basically confirmed he was working with a foreign government to help his dad's campaign when he released his emails and nothing came of that, and I expect nothing will.
It’s not about denial. It’s about Right Wing hate radio and the FoxNews propaganda network having so little respect for their viewers they think they are so stupid they have no mind of their own at all to look at all the evidence out there and make a conservative minded objective opinion on their own on the merits. They think they are dumb enough to not look at the elephant over here and follow whatever carrot they have on a stick leading them the other way. My question here to those folks we all know is, are you that dumb cause I don’t think most are. I think most FoxNews viewers aren’t that stupid but they are playing along without objectively at the moment because they want to feel like they did the right thing last year, and the Hillary conspiracy chasing gives them cover for their decision. I do think in the end years later 90% of Americans will look back and openly say putting Trump in the White House was a horrible idea and all of these Republicans publicly backing and trying to aid Trump (hello Nunes, Paul Ryan, and Grassley) will have a stained name coming out of this.
He is not investigating why his friend was fired. Comey's firing led to Mueller, but Mueller's job is to investigate whether the communications between the Trump campaign and Russia were criminal.
The investigation was caused by the firing of his friend and his friend is one of the key witnesses. Again, when a personal friend is involved as much as Comey is involved, it amounts to an obvious conflict of interest and even if he is not compromised or believes that he is not compromised by that conflict of interest it is still his responsibility to step down or refuse the position in order to prevent the illusion of impropriety. I mean, it's just ethics.
Playing that old talking pt. I heard a TX Senator said he doesn't agree with him, but because he's a Republican, I'll of course support him. We are family. This is possibly where most Republican in Congress are at today. Conflict of interest. Should excuse themselves in all of Trump investigations.
The reason to have an independent investigator in the first place is in order to avoid the appearance of impropriety and conflicts of interests that would come from those closer to the situation. If you are going to hire someone with an obvious conflict of interest.....why did you even bother?
Sure, which is why Comey's son would also have a conflict of interest if he was named the investigator.....I don't see what point you were trying to make here.
"The evidence Clinton campaign, DNC, and Russia colluded to influence the election is indisputable," tweeted Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. See what I mean.
That fat b**** needs a good sitting down and talking to. Her and her hypocritical father lie through their teeth time and time again while claiming to be good christians.
Trump legal team scrambles to prepare for new stage of Russia probe President Donald Trump’s White House and personal lawyers scrambled Saturday to learn where the knife might fall in the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, triggering a guessing game among aides after days of trying to turn attention away from allegations of collusion with Russia during the election. Attorneys involved in the case said their cellphones have been ringing nonstop as they connected with each other, and with reporters, trying to gather more concrete details after a CNN report Friday night that a federal grand jury had approved the first charges in the Russia investigation. https://www.politico.com/story/2017/10/28/trump-russia-probe-legal-244270
