I had a neighbor---for context: 80-ish years old, white, Texan born and bred (you get the picture)---who told me and another neighbor, "I hate Democrats, they're socialists, blah blah blah." He went on in his rant about, "I think the people on January 6th are patriots" (not the cops, mind you) and "Greg Abbott should get Vladimir Putin to help in getting Texas to secede from the United States."

Of course, I was aghast. You couldn't make this s*** up. I didn't think it would do much good to tell him that Putin's country is ostensibly socialist but this neighbor hates "Democrats because they're socialist".

Such people are everywhere, if you live in our great state of Texas. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting one of them.

 

You can always go to California to enjoy the wildfires instead of staying in TX and try to make it blue. Lol
