Just think about how much deadlier that armed mob would have been if they hadn't stopped a lot of the weapons from coming through earlier. They came armed and ready to kill. If Trump had his way they might have. He didn't give a damn if they stormed that Capitol armed to kill. He said it best. He was reportedly "furious" about the size of the crowd at his rally, said "I don't care that they have weapons. They are not here to hurt me. Take the effing mags (magnetometers) away,"

Trump wouldn't have cared, as long as the armed insurrectionists were his MAGA supporters. He's f*cking psycho.

Five people died. One Capitol Hill Police officer was killed and approximately 81 members of the Capitol Police and 58 members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department sustained injuries – officers were trampled, struck with a bat, pinned against a statue, hit with a fire extinguisher, sprayed with bear spray, and pushed down stairs, among several other violent acts.

A review of the police reports related to the arrests show that police seized at least 3,071 rounds of ammunition during the course of these arrests — enough ammunition to shoot every member of the House and Senate five times.

If you want to see what an insurrection looks like Google up Sri Lanka. Now that's an insurrection.

No, you can literally see that it was a small window that she had difficulty climbing through. The speculation is the doomsaying of what would have happened had she made it. My responses are things there is actual video and photo evidence of. I posted the barricade with multiple armed officers where @FranchiseBlade said that only a door stood between cowering members of Congress and this rampaging 100 lb woman if Byrd had not shot her.

You can see the SWAT team in the video where she is shot. None of that is speculation.
None of those men entered the Capitol, per your links. They were on the Capitol grounds. Is there is a single image or video of any non-law enforcement officer with a firearm inside the Capitol? For the most heavily armed population on earth launching a coup, the MAGAs certainly seem to have forgotten to bring all the guns.

It mentions one of them who entered the Capitol and marched up the stairs. Were those outside stairs?

Guy Reffitt, a Jan. 6 rioter who charged up the stairs alongside Alberts and was the first Capitol rioter to go to trial, also had a gun.

Yes, as it says in the very article you linked here (Video shows Reffitt, with a blue jacket covering his waistband, leading the mob up the steps of the Capitol, beside the platform where Joe Biden was inaugurated.)

So, those patriots stormed the capitol to just peacefully congratulate Congress on doing their job? Why didn’t they just knock on the door politely?

Strawman argument. Good luck finding the post where I called these people patriots or said they wanted to peacefully congratulate Congress on doing their job. There are 491 pages of posts here. I'm sure the one you are looking for is in there somewhere.

@StupidMoniker used a different straw man. Do try to keep up, y’all.

Yes, the classic strawman of direct quotes.

Congress’s Jan. 6 Investigation Looks Less and Less Credible

    https://jonathanturley.org/2024/11/25/congresss-jan-6-investigation-looks-less-and-less-credible/

    excerpt:

January 6 remains as much a political litmus test as it is a historical event. Whether you refer to that day as a riot or an insurrection puts you on one side or the other of a giant political chasm. I viewed the attack on that day as a desecration of our constitutional process, but I did not view it as an insurrection. I still don’t.

It was a protest that became a riot when a woefully insufficient security plan collapsed. And that is a view shared by most Americans. One year after the riot, a CBS poll showed that 76 percent viewed it as a “protest gone too far.”

A Harvard study also found that those arrested on that day were motivated by loyalty to Trump rather than support for an insurrection.

A recent poll found that almost half of the public (43 percent) felt that “too much is being made” of the riot and that it is “time to move on.” Of course, that still leaves a little over half who view the day as “an attack on democracy.”

The continued distrust of the official accounts of Jan. 6 reflects a failure of the House Democrats, and specifically former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), to guarantee a credible and comprehensive investigation.

NYT: The House Dems Are Revolting!

    https://hotair.com/ed-morrissey/2024/11/30/nyt-the-house-dems-are-revolting-n3797477

    excerpt:

Nancy Pelosi leading a leadership challenge is somewhat akin to Gordon Gekko demanding reform and better enforcement at the SEC. Pelosi is practically the entire problem with House Democrat leadership. She encouraged the lawfare that eventually backfired, and the La Resistance strategies that just landed Democrats in the Washington wilderness. Democrats should have dumped Pelosi out of leadership the first time she lost the House majority, not to mention the second time she lost it.

Let's not forget, too, her last project in pushing out old leadership for something new and shiny. How did Pelosi's presidential coup in July work out for Democrats, anyway? Enjoying the Kamala Harris Era, are they? Why anyone would take Pelosi's strategic advice after her actual revolt is beyond comprehension.

Excellent. I hope she is held accountable. FAFO.

Judging by Trump's rhetoric regarding undocumented immigrants we know that taking extreme measures against people who commit misdemeanors is appropriate.

Excellent. That seems like good work by the FBI. Hopefully some of their work is what helped to arrest and prosecute the criminals J6.
