The 1st hearing said the below about intel and prep. The WH and other Intel agencies knew. We will know more in upcoming hearings. Likely those Intel agencies are from the DoJ and/or DoD. These are agencies of the executive branch.

The attack on our Capitol was not a spontaneous riot. Intelligence available before January 6th identified plans to quote, "invade the Capitol, occupy the Capitol, and take other steps to halt Congress's count of electoral votes that day". In our hearings to come, we will identify elements of those plans and we will show specifically how a group of Proud Boys led a mob into the Capitol building on January 6th.

As part of our investigation we will present information about what the White House and other intelligence agencies knew and why the Capitol was not better prepared. But we will not lose sight of the fact that the Capitol Police did not cause the crowd to attack. And we will not blame the violence that day — violence provoked by Donald Trump — on the officers who bravely defended all of us.

Are they planning on subverting the certification of electoral votes?

 

Just found this on Reddit. These Q-Anon freaks apparently believe JFK is still alive and about to emerge from hiding, presumably to join up with Trump to take down Hillary and Comet Ping Pong. Compared with that, some of these "reality adjacent" tales of what occurred that day spun by Q-Anon types don't seem that outlandish.



Objective reality has somehow become subject to wishes and desires. Maybe this was always the case, and people can now just publish their own private realities without an adult looking over their shoulder and telling them no. I'm hoping that is the case.

Sadly, it's not a one off. They've done it in the past. Not sure if any of the resident conspiracy theorists here believe it.

 

It's scary to think we have some of those QAnon crazies in the GOP.

 

I guarantee you won't see Joe Biden standing out there cheering them on and giving them the command to storm. You really do make mockery of what the insurrection was don't you? Last time I checked this wasn't a vote to certify the President of the United States.

I don't condone any type of violence regardless, unlike you, who scoff it off as child's play when it happens to be those who vote GOP, or by calling the investigation of the coup a kangaroo court.

Unfortunately, this protest situation will probably become violent with radicals on both sides sparring off at each other. It will be unlike that day on Jan 6th, when the violence upon police and death threats towards the Vice President were all Trump's army of right wing thugs and White Supremasists, desperately trying to put their lying pig sore loser back on his pedestal of power.

 

So they WON'T be interfering with the certification of electoral votes and interrupting/preventing the declaration of a duly elected President. Good to know.

 

If they break into the building and kill police officers I hope they are punished.

 

I see, so disrupting some government activities is insurrection, but not Supreme Court decisions

 

If they start beating down cops, spraying them with bear spray, pepper spray, and tear gas, start scaling the building and bashing their way in screaming to hang officials, I would certainly hope they get punished. I also bet there will be right wingers there in the mix with some violence in mind.

I bet your ass you wouldn't see Biden sending his love and smiling with glee if it happens like your coup leader loser. I bet your ass he won't stand out there on a mike and tell them to storm, then flee and watch with joy for hours and ignore calls for help.

Still wondering if you think Trump should be held accountable as the instigator of the insurrection. You can't have it both ways.

 

Well... first... have they done anything yet or do you want folks arrested because they plan a protest?

Second, if they are violent in their actions, then they should be punished to the full extent of the law.

Essentially you a shifting the narrative away from the fact that Trump set the stage for this to happen with his consistent attacks on the election system leading up to and after the election to "why didn't the Dems do more to stop the rioters"?
