The information in this thread is nothing more than what JVG might say in a radio interview. He really wants better shooting, and he likes Chuck Hayes. No reason to keep either of those things a secret.
you forget how JVG and co have been going on and on about wanting a 4 that can shoot the 3 and space out the floor.
In fact Van Gundy said him and Swift were not on the same page for the first 60 games. Van Gundy said that he hopes to teach Swift what it takes to get to the next level. Van Gundy said it was more of not being on the same page, then Swift's performance on the court.
Well that's true, he's said that in other venues. I was just talking about the legendary Deleted Thread. It could be that he does want to revamp the PF spot but didn't think to mention it at the breakfast. Who knows.
There are 15 spots on the Roster, for now Hayes has one of them. Which one will be determined on how clever and devious the Rockets management is during the offseason. I like Hayes and his determination. He will be in competition with others to play back up positions.
I think it's amazing how much hate Juwan gets around here. He's one of our most consistent players. He can shoot, he defends and rebounds well, and he's smart. Plus, he's one of Van Gundy's favorites so he won't be going anywhere. Yes, he WILL be our starting PF again next year so just get used to it. If nothing else, be mad at the younger and more athletic Stromile that he couldn't take Juwan's starting spot.
It's all tied to the huge contract he signed. A. Rod's talent as a baseball player is undeniable, yet when you compare his performance on the field to his paychecks it seems he's underperforming a lot of the time. It's the same thing with Jho. He's a decent NBA player who makes allstar caliber money.
http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/houston.htm What huge contract? He's being paid slightly above the MLE. The huge contract ended 3 years ago. He's still a bit overpaid, but not nearly as bad as many others.
It kills me too to see we missed wide open looks. If somehow we can get some athleticism and shooting to go this draft.
Actually, he is right at the top of the total compensation list in the history of the NBA. He could only live up to his paycheck if he played like Olajuwon.
