Which one is the best? There's so many now. I remember back in the days, Fogo was the spot. I've never been to one in Houston, but I went to one in Colorado. Forgot the name, but the food was ok.
I work in City Centre, and they just opened up a Texas de Brazil about a year ago. It's pretty great. I prefer it to Fogo de Chao, personally.
Always wondered why Brazil got a name for steakhouse's in the US when Argentina is the king of asado outside of Texas. Is Brazil just a more marketable country than Argentina?
I've only been to Fogo de Chao. I really enjoyed it personally, but I don't have much experience with churrascarias.

Really puts into perspective how short Altuve is that he is absolutely dwarfed by Bagwell of all people.
Only one I've been to was Fogo. I gorged since it was on the company card. It was great but the meat was a bit too salty.
chama gaucha is similar in quality to fogo but a few dollars cheaper. I think dinner is something like $42 vs $46 at fogo. If you add that up for a party of 4 - 8 people, it could be significantly less on the bill. Tradacio in sugarland is decent, a cut below Fogo and Chama. There is one called Angus Grill on westhiemer, they always advertise groupons for them. Avoid it at all cost. Place is dirty, their salad bar is just deli meats and kraft slice cheese, service is god awful, waiters rarely ever come to your table so your waiting forever to get a cut of steak.
This is a cheap alternative but cheaper for a reason. Not nearly as good as the others. When I went last week, the meats just had no flavor. It was strange. The sides and salad bar are not as good either. You can get a groupon for 2 to eat for like $40 though. Chama is the best I think though. It used to be Fogo but it is still a close second.
Yeah, I've wondered that myself. If you actually go eat in those countries, the quality of product is so vastly superior in Argentina it's not funny. Mainly due to climate affecting the type of animal that thrive there, the cebu cattle that dominate the brazilian market are just not very good beef cattle.
I used to go Nelore about 5 years ago.. Tried them again recently and the quality isn't the same. Facon is pretty good.. They will pick you up from you house within 5 miles. Angus Grill was ok. Tradicao is pretty good. I need to try Fogo and Texas De.
