Luis: I chew metal and sip fire.. AR: You have Brazil in the Eight Final how does that make you feel? Luis: Indifferent. I'm not afraid to lose because I wont. I cant. Beast mode can be activated at a whim and I have been working on FIBA GOD MODE. AR: You are on the cusp of FIBA royalty now how does that change your mindset going into games with your team and against opposition? Luis: Ball. intense interview Scola was foaming at the mouth @ one point.
Sucks that bosh isn't on the USA team, that way Scola can show him up. But we can wait for the season to see that, I expect scola to have a chip on his shoulder towards Bosh after all the rumors that surrounded him. Scola is here to kick some Cola (for all the Spanish speaker)
I really hope Argentina and EE. UU. play in the finals or Semis (not sure how the bracket is setup), Scola should be able to eat alive the American PForwards. Not sure they can pull it out but if they did and Scola dominated...HOLY #$#%$#.
The Spurs weren't dumb. They were just the victim of timing. Duncan was still playing on a high level when Scola entered his prime. There's no way they would play Scola over Duncan. And there's no way they would keep a guy like Scola on the bench. So they had to trade him and bank on Splitter's potential of being Duncan's heir. The only mistake they made was trading him to the Rockets.
I think it was more than that. Scola's buyout from his Euro team was too large at the time and Scola would have had to pay personally the difference of the buyout because of NBA rules limits how much an NBA team spend to buyout a Euro contract. Instead the Spurs signed his fellow countryman Oberto. I certainly think Pops would have found a way to put Scola and Duncan on the floor together. Duncan is only a PF in name anyways.
Pop would have found a way to play both Duncan and Scola together. Duncan has been playing C for the most part in the past four years. Scola would have been missing piece in those years when they were able to get deep into the playoffs with Matt Bonner as their PF.
