Scola was simply unconscious in crunch time. Made all the right plays and hit every shot. Absolutely beautiful.
Even when Luis tries to miss he accidentally scores 5 points and grabs a rebound. I don't know about you guys but I'm going to try and steal a lock of hair and brew it in my tea.
The boogieman checks under his bed for Chuck Norris....Chuck Norris checks under his bed for LUIS F'N SCOLA!!!
Scola was unbelievable. He was hitting contested shots and shots off the dribble down the stretch. Clutch performance.
An this as offensive reference and against Varejao+Splitter. This is maybe the better game I've seen him ever. His game does not look polished, but he's effective, believe me. Obviously, if you are expecting a Scola, he's not that (much less THIS Scola we're watching), but is a better offensive player than Varejao, finishing and at 1on1. Defensively he's as versatile and tough as Varejao, and has a very good body. Will need some adaptation to a more limited role, build the confidence (he had a lot here in europe) and adapt his game to the NBA defenders, but as role player will be good. Oberto knows him very well and has played great defense on him. The Scola's performance of today is something that I've just seen in FIBA basketball in (european) players like Dirk Nowitzki, Pau Gasol, Arvydas Sabonis, Drazen Petrovic... and a few more. Has made history, unbelieveable.
