Its a special teamer Trusnik or something and a few draft picks.. I already dropped him on my ff team. Back to back 0 performances is not accpetable.
The Jets agreed to send key special teams player Jason Trusnik, wide receiver Chansi Stuckey and a pair of draft picks to Cleveland, Schefter reported http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4538498

Per Adam Schefter of ESPN and Jay Glazer of FOX, the Browns get linebacker Jason Trusnick and draft picks. Glazer reports that receiver Chansi Stucky is also part of the deal. UPDATE: Glazer reports there are two draft picks; Schefter says they're believed to be a third-round pick and a fifth-round pick. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/07/browns-get-stucky-trusnick-and-picks-for-edwards/
With Sanchez throwing him the ball and the Jets defense getting him on the field, I'm hoping his fantasy value goes up for my sakes.
Sanchez will be an upgrade as far as throwing him the ball, but he will still drop it. Add the pressure of NYC and this will be a meltdown
Jets are serious contenders at this point. Only wish that the Vikings were somehow on their schedule. And the Jets upcoming schedule? Fins Bills Raiders Fins (Bye) Jax (Pats) Panthers Bills Bucs Not hard to see them going 7-2 over that stretch. All of a sudden, you'd have to consider them favorites to take the AFC East, and probably home field.
Whats amazing is that Cleveland wanted a 1st rounder from the Giants for Braylon only 4 months ago. Giants were smart...Smith and Manningham have turned out to be great, and they grabbed Nicks as well to round out their WR corp.
Wow. It's really quite scary how fast players' stocks change in the NFL. One year is all that separates a pro-bowl WR to being traded for a 3rd and a 5th.
I'd say two. He exploded his third year, and regressed badly last year. 1300 yds and 16 TDs --> 900 yds and 3 TDs. Stats not affected by health - he played all 16 both years. He just lost a ton of focus and was dropping catchable balls all the time - to the point that he was getting booed at home. It looks a lot like a guy that is more interested in enjoying his "stardom" than working on being/staying at an elite level. But trades like this usually offer a solid kick in the pants. A lot of factors suggest that he'll rebound in a big way: Going from a sad sack loser to a top 5 team. The usual "I'll show them" chip on the shoulder trade reaction. Upgrade at QB Upgrade at the RB and WR positions to take heat off of him A full slate of bad teams to feast on as he gets his feet wet. He immediately gets to enjoy the perfect offense to be a deep threat guy: Good O-line to allow plays to develop deep Good running game to prevent nickel and dime packages Good opposite threat in Cotchery
I remember the game against the Texans last season where I'm fairly certain his hands had literally turned to stone. He couldn't catch the swine flu.
Didn't watch the Browns last year(of course, since they're the Browns). It's just so weird how these things happen so much in football, but much less so in basketball or baseball. And as you pointed out, isn't even injury related.
I think Braylon's QB situation just got much better -- but if he is having meltdowns in Cleveland - the NY media is going to drive him crazy.
I feel bad for Chansi. I went to HS with the guy, he ended up going from a 7th round draft pick that broke his ankle and missed his entire rookie year to a a starter for a Super Bowl contender. Now he is a Brown.
