He can come off the bench plus I think he Will bring a little hype to are city. We need need creditability from where ever we can Get it. I'm tired of r team not getting any love Because people only care about "all-stars" hey u Never know plus I was just blowing smoke in the air
Well. Brandon Roy is already a forgotten star. And did you see what Tracy was able to accomplish in Detroit? Little to nothing. If this was 2007; sure we'd have TONS of credibility for getting Roy... sadly, Roy's career is pretty much over. And besides; we already had our "all-stars" in Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady... I hate the NBA.
I'm sorry but, our front office will lose all credibility if we get Brandon Roy here. Seriously, he's not an all star anymore, he's not even a consistent role player, I honestly don't know what he is at this point. I can only describe him as Grant Hill but without a cure for his bummed knees. BRoy is one of my favorite players, but there's not a team in the league today that wants to take him and that contract.
it's really no justifiable reason to pay that much money to a bench player. especially when that's not what we need. like others have said. i'd rather take a chance on oden than roy. and if it's a star we need, i would rather tank for a top pick in this good upcoming draft next year than gamble on a former star with blown knees. like austin rivers
I personally think it's great to have a solid female fan base here in Houston. I think it's great that your interested in Rockets basketball and you should always feel free to voice your opinion on here and share some random trade/ free agent ideas. However, as for Brandon Roy, there really isn't a GM that would take a gamble on him anymore because he basically has no cartilage in his knees and multiple doctors have confirmed he has strict basketball limitations now through the rest of his life. He is expected to not only by on strict minute regulations but he is also making max level dollars. This team needs a go too player, but Brandon Roy and his contract would set this franchise back another five seasons. Portland however most likely will look to dangle Nicholas Batum in the offseason, but will command a high price tag in return. He's no superstar but would be an excellent fit with the current unit in place. That is if they wouldn't have to give up much. That's the only Blazer outside of Aldridge that Morey would have interest in.
We have enough bench players as it is. We need a defensive 5 & a starting 3. At this point, Roy isn't an upgrade to what we already have.
You should be glad you mentioned you are a girl. This thread will not be this civilized if this was from a random guy poster.
Yup me too! When I win the lotto I'm gonna buy the "NBGay" and change all of that. Especially Those stupid touch fouls
I don't understand why you continue to defend your idea in getting Roy...it's not hype if you get a guy who's broken...and getting payed max money. Go back to lurking please.
I do play basketball at my gym every now and then. I've seen girls that are just sick when they play but that doesn't mean they know what they are talking about. Any guy would know that Roy is trash now and a person of knowledge of the game knows that you don't pay someone 20 million to ride the bench. You're idea was not a good one and even if you didn't say you were a girl i still would have called you out on it because, well that's just what we do here on clutchfans. Go back to lurking and quit wasting everyone's time with stupid threads about someone no one wants. You didn't even say how you plan on getting him to "crutch" town.
Brandon Roy's condition is worst than Oden's.. I wanted Oden but after learning that he had 1 leg severely shorter than the other it was a definite deal breaker.
the only way Brandon Roy is coming to Houston is Portland has a brain lapse and trades LaMarcus Aldrige with him.
It's really heartbreaking watching him go out there and play for a few minutes at a time. This guy was a beast and a superstar just two seasons ago. Roy, Oden, and Aldridge should have been the dynasty of the future.
