Well to be technical, Roy didn't say he spoke with Van Gundy. He said he met him. Hell, I've met NBA personel before too, but I didn't have a conversation with any of them. For all we know he walked past him in a hallway and shook hands.

I knew someone was going to say something like that. At least you winked, so I won't have to kill you for being a smartass ;)

I know we need him, almost as much as anybody else, but if we don't have the cash to sign him, his rights should be tasty trade bait to the 3 teams above us in the draft that are hurting for point guards.

    Cable? Gater? Is that legal?

I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere in all the Howard and Head talk.

Yeah we can trade his rights. But does anyone want him? That's the question. I don't know how many GMs and front offices are in tune with international guys that belong to other teams. Seems like they'd put a lot more focus on scouting international free agents or draft-able players.

From what little I know about GMs the guy most likely to know about V-Span is Colangelo with toronto since his new assistant Gm is a former Euro exec. Maybe if we get a TE from the Juwan to Atlanta deal, we could sign and trade for Mike James while sending Toronto the rights to V-Span. Just thinking out loud but that would make a ton of sense, if we can do that deal with Atlanta in the first place.

I saw it. It was Calkings, not Berman.

Roy looks pretty frickin good...He goes off against Arizona towards the end of the video, he sure looks to have some great scoring ability...He would make a great 3rd scoring option on the Rockets...I think we should do whatever we can to get him.

This second video shows how disciplined he is. I've never seen somebody get back on defense so fast aftering being at the line...

I think it's kinda hard tho if we had to choose between Roy or Gay...

DaneB, thanks for the video. Man, Roy's skills are just sick! The guy can actually run the floor on the break and finish, or can the 3. Hell, the play where he splits 2 defenders and sinks the 3 is awesome. He's got length, appears to play D like a madman. The only thing I didn't see much of was a midrange J. I think it's in his bag of tricks, though. Roy would be perfect on the Rocks with Tracy and Yao. Rafer would kill for someone like that to pass to. Lets get him!

Yes indeed, that is the question. I don't think the Rockets even want him because splitting the MLE between him and another marginal player is the WRONG idea. We should use the full MLE for an NBA-proven veteran that can help us.

We need to get over V-Span. CD and the Rockets won't admit it publicly though.

Agree, this kid is the most NBA ready of all the SGs (Brewer, Carney, Redick). Now the question is do you take Miles minus JH playing for the Rox to get him.

I'd say maybe Joe Johnson. Does a lot of things well, can shoot and penetrate, handle the ball, create, and defend, but doesn't do anything well enough to be an elite level offensive option.
