As much as I love Roy and the fact that he is my favorite player, the trade you proposed is ridiculous. My grandma even says so.

Yeah, because he's definitely going to remain healthy on the 5th try. What's the definition of insanity again?

Can we sign Oden too? Lets keep up the Rockets tradition of "If we were healthy.."!

I would have to see a few games to see if he can play through having no knees. Some guys can and some guys cant. I am not sure aguy who relies on driving to the basket and quick cuts is gonna be good after these surgeries. Tmac was never the same. Lets face it? At one point Tmac was better than Brandon Roy ever was.

Roy ruined his career returning too early in the playoffs last year.

I wonder if the Blazers start to struggle and it appears obvious Roy will never be more then a complementary player after these injuries, would they entertain the idea of trading LaMarcus Aldridge? He is young and a cornerstone type player so probably not, but if they decided to blow it up and start over, LA would certain bring back some nice assets for them.

Not a good move. Lamarcus is a poor cornerstone. He does not dominate the boards. And he does not get enough out of his touches. And he is making big money. That turn around looks awesome. But it is hallow because he does not get to the FT line nearly enough.

Of course.. I think the Rockets have suffered through worst. I guess my wording made it seem i feel sorry for the Blazers. I actually feel bad for the players. I know what it's like to go through a knee injury - and to have an injury take away from what you love to do is heartbreaking.

I'd don't know guys, it's tough to find players in this league with both knees bone on bone and locked up in a near max-contract for the next 5 years. This is a rare opportunity.

The fact that we're all responding to this thread just shows how much we love the team and basketball in general. Because the Portland GM only brought up the chance to trade Roy, running it out in front of everyone like a dumbass squirrel on the road. And I'm sure the conversation died just as quickly. That's a big contract for a young man whose knees are already shot. Isiah Thomas isn't in the league now. Such a deal would not happen.

When healthy, Roy is a stud, the dude just gets it. That he was almost a Rocket is ironic. We have a knack for acquiring the latest version of Mr. Glass.

I agree. I just wish it happened to some teams (*cough* LAKERS *cough*) more than others.

What the HELL would make any GM with common sense want to sign another T-Macless?? I hate when people with no basketball knowledge propose crazy ideas. They reported that his injury will only get worse....so why on Gods green earth would you trade anybody for damaged goods?? Now if Portland wanted to part with Roy for a pick and maybe, and i mean maybe, an expiring contract i would consider. Wes Matt seems to be stepping up for them anyway so Roy may not be missed as much in portland. I mean Roy is a very good but he is too young to have such problems and unless a pick for him i wouldnt touch him with a ten foot pole....its actually really sad....IT IS WRITTEN.

So true.....Its a teams responsibility to protect its players, sometimes from themselves. He wanted to play but the organizatin should have made him sit. I guess winning is everything, even at your franchise players expense... :( ........IT IS WRITTEN.
