20 minutes a game would be nice for rest purposes for our vets. My question is who's minutes does he eat into? That would be a major shift to our back court rotation. He will have to play some dam good ball to justify that. I hope he balls out and you are right. How would the minutes distribution change for CP, EG, and James?
My hope is that he’s able to reduce both harden and cp3 minutes. If him and Gordon can play well together we will be a very scary team
Good question. I think this answer will be determined by how much experimenting we do of Gordon at the 3 (or playing Harden and Gordon together with Paul/Knight. Personally I'm hopeful that Ennis can give you regular minutes at 3. Green can take a few minutes in the right matchups. And there's, of course an outside chance that Caboclo actually fits into the mix. All in all, I'm pleased by our improvements. I think we've got lots of pieces that can fit together in interesting ways. We've got better younger players and some guys who are much more athletic off the bench.
hahaha what can I say. It's a dillema which player I dislike more between Knight and MCW. Knight is a pnr blind "pg" who doesn't play D and has extremely low BBIQ. Like he's REALLY blind. He relied on his athleticism but now that he had serious injuries I don't know how he will be. He can shoot the 3 a little so his ideal role will be off the ball shooter.
I still cannot figure out the MCW signing. Even for the minimum I don't get it. I pretty much thought the same thing on Knight. Knight is bad, but here he'll be our 4th guard who hardly plays, so... no big deal. I think our best case scenario is he does well in limited action and a bad GM decides to accept him in a trade, enabling us to get off his contract.
That's easy. MCW is the currently probably the best perimeter defender on the entire team besides CP3. Pj Tucker maybe, but he's one year older now and matches up with pf/f. Offensively, with the spacing on this team, hopefully MCW will finish better at the rim than in the past.
At least MCW can defend and is healthy. That puts him ahead of Knight. Also, MCW is stupid but he isn't a cancer and Knight was a true cancer in Phoenix.
ya MCW i've noticed is completely incompetent as a playmaker, like ariza incompetent on his first go-around with us. but if he just has to stick to an opposing player and is able to make some open 3's then there's a chance he could be serviceable.
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine Add a second rounder plus Knight, for an expiring contract. Zach Randolph for Knight plus a second rounder.
No, he isn't. I only mentioned this as an option if Knight isn't up to the task. Who knows, the Kings might take him for PG depth. I want to see Brandon succeed in Houston, but his ACL injury history worries me. CP3 needs help, and MCW isn't the answer.
An ACL injury would worry me if he had the injury last season but he got surgery over a year ago. He should be ready to go as long as he can get up to game speed during the preseason.
Gordon subbing for Harden and Knight for PG, and I'm sure PG will likely avg a few mins less than last year's playing time.
I love this add! Knight can be a huge plus in resting CP3. CP could go down again and you wouldn't lose Gordon off the bench, and with him you've got a good ballhandler/creator on the floor no matter what, and you're set with injuries and foul trouble. Yes, people still want that 3&D guy, but now i'm not convinced we still have those minutes available... I'm already not sure where Ennis is going to get real minutes..
He has had a knee clean up a while ago, and he might miss training camp, but he should be ready for the season. I hope my doubts will be allayed.
That's actually pretty common in athletes after the injury and rehab. If you try repairing the cartilage and meniscus rather than just cleaning it out it takes longer to heal and things will need refinement. Kyrie had a more serious problem with this on his knee. Surgeries like the one Wade had in college have come into more scrutiny lately. It may appear easier to just cut out out the tissue than let it heal but it is not better long term for the athlete to lose that cushion and develop arthritis in the joint. That continued inflammation often leads to draining the knee continually to remove the pressure. When I blew mine out they cleaned everything out and I deal with bone on bone now. My dad did his at the same time and later had to have his knee replaced.
