I believe it would change things dramatically if we lost or traded Moochie. He's got to be Rudy's greatest CBA acquistion of all time. Where else are you going to get a PG with the skills he has & for the price we're paying. I'd be willing to bet that his name has been brought up on more than one occasion in trade conversations. I think the guy could start on quite a few teams. Some day we may lose him, but until then, let's not mention his name in trade talks again. [IMG]

However, if trading him as part of the package were to land us Brand, ya gotta do it.

I think the guy's got game and should have been an all star this year. I don't think his kind of stats are a fluke. And I've always thought its harder to but up certain stats like F/G % on a bad team because the other team can game plan on you and not the whole team.

Ranks #11 in the NBA in Rebounds Per Game(10.6)
Ranks #19 in the NBA in Field-Goal Percentage(0.486)
Ranks #16 in the NBA in Blocks Per Game(1.87)
Ranks #14 in the NBA in Minutes Per Game(39.8)
Ranks #14 in the NBA in Free Throws(234.0)
Ranks #15 in the NBA in Free Throw Attempts(319.0)
Ranks #1 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds(186.0)
Ranks #1 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per Game(4.1)
Ranks #13 in the NBA in Total Rebounds(475.0)
Ranks #17 in the NBA in Blocks(84.0)
Ranks #10 in the NBA in Double-doubles(25.0)
Ranks #16 in the NBA in Free Throws Per 48 Minutes(6.27)
Ranks #15 in the NBA in Free Throw Attempts Per 48 Minutes(8.55)
Ranks #15 in the NBA in Offensive Rebounds Per 48 Minutes(5.0)

I think Jerry Stackhouse is a better example of how a bad team can inflate your stats. He gets tons of points because he shoots so much, but his F/G % is only .408. Now thats pathetic.

While I know its not gonna happen I would love to have a Brand on the team to grow with Steve and Cat. And while I'm dreaming could someone please throw in Lamar Odom? Then we could have the three best players from last years draft. They would make a great team.

    Steve
    Cat
    Odom
    Brand
    Dream

    Ahhh. It's good to Dream!

Remember the Rockets got a guy named Avery Johnson from the CBA several years ago. Seems like he popped up again on some team with a center some people called the admiral. I don't really recall what happened to him though. [IMG]

    Crash,

At the time, I felt they made a big mistake by letting him get away, but he hadn't shown the consistency that Moochie has, just flashes. I also don't remember if we waived him or traded him. I do believe that Moochie is better than AJ, even at this point in his career. I think that guys like Moochie & AJ give all the guys that are border line players, a reason to believe.

Oh yeah, wasn't Mario a CBA player when Rudy picked him up? And there was Chucky Brown, Matt Maloney,....etc.

Didn't we acquire Avery on waivers from SA, keep him for awhile, then waive him back? That's the way I remember it.

Better to trade for Brand than hope for Webber, but I doubt Brand is available. Here's our baloney for your filet!

I thin Elie is the best CBA callup.

IMO he has had a beter NBA career than Johnson.

We won't get Griffin. He'll go Top 5, maybe 1 or 2, in the draft.

But if Chicago has eyes for that guy, maybe the Bulls would go for our deal. You get a veteran through the end of next season (Walt) and you can grab point guard Tinsley with the Houston draft pick.

Tim Floyd would have Fizer, Cato, and Tinsley...Iowa State East. And I think Floyd would get better production from his former college players than Screamin' Rick Pitino did with his Kentucky boys in Boston.

After the loss, I'll take on the problem of worrying about something that will never happen. [IMG]

Would the Rockets be able to put together a role player trade for Brand? Probably not. Would they then be able to put together a role player trade for a playmaker that the Bulls could use? For example, Terrell Brandon would make a difference for the Bulls (though if he were available, the Wolves would be dumb to not just trade straight up for Brand).

The Bulls seriously need a strong point. They have Mercer that can score... Fizer's playing better of late, and they have decent defensive small forwards. The only reason they lose is because they have noone to push the ball and make game winning decisions (they have also been pushing a dumb system on their players).

    Ahhhh... dreamcasting.

I would give up Mobes for Brand..It might sound crazy, but it is harder to get that stud big man who you know will produce every night...gotta give up value.

I wouldn't. Cat is one of the greatest draft steals of all time, and most importantly-when all our other stars have bad shooting nights, Mobes comes through (orlando game)

    finalsbound,
I agree Cat is a total steal and so is his contract.I love his game and think it will progress. He can get to the line at will and is unstoppable getting to the hoop. The chemistry is there, but to compete in the West we have to have that size and I'll take the young top pick with his well rounded, fundamentally sound game.I know the odds on breaking up Mobes and Stevie are long, but this is one player I would do it for.If Chicago would do this ....i wouldn't think twice. If we were to move him along with Cato in this deal, much the better....so much capspace. We still can play the free agent market, sign our own players, or deal...I see where your coming from ,believe me.Just dreamcasting for a sec, assuming the Bulls would actually move Brand, who would you give up to get it done?

I agree i wouldn't trade Mobley either. He and Francis are unstoppable together.

    Then why aren't we 53-0.

    Unstoppable isn't quite the word.

I wouldn't trade Mobley for Brand because we would have to take big man who cant play(miller) and other cap fillers.

Also Mobley is giving us close to Brand's production and is best friends with our franchise player.

I hate mentioning this, but Nikestrad threw out a name that might draw some interest. Moochie! He would definitely help Chicago. As much as we would hate to break up Francis & Cat, I'd also be as reluctant to trade Moochie. However, Brand would be a major addition to the team. Would you send Moochie in a package deal for Brand? With mixed emotions, I'd have to say yes. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I would deal Moochie in a sec if it meant getting Brand...but it would be with a heavy heart.
