    nbatalk reports:

Chicago cleaning house - Bulls chief Jerry Krause has tagged many labels on Elton Brand, including cornerstone and model citizen. But there's one label Krause has stopped applying: untouchable. 'I don't think, when you win six games, anybody's untouchable,' Krause said Monday. Michael [Jordan] was the only untouchable in the history of this franchise, for a lot of reasons. But Elton is certainly an all-star, and it's very hard to trade an all-star. I can't see that happening. You'd have to pretty much overwhelm me.' But in this desperate hour, overwhelming possibilities surface on a regular basis. There's even been speculation that the Miami Heat might try to pry Brand loose before the deadline using deadweight Alonzo Mourning. The Bulls would have to include other players and/or draft picks to match Zo's enormous salary. 'That would never happen,' said agent and realist David Falk, who represents both players. 'Elton is a foundational player you build around,' said Falk, failing to explain why he hasn't sent Chicago any of his other high-caliber 'building blocks'. . Meanwhile, after only two years, coach Tim Floyd may have reached the breaking point. His team is mired in a club-record 16 straight losses, and Floyd's future is undoubtedly uncertain. 'Sure, I'm discouraged by losses,' said Floyd, who recently spoke with chairman Jerry Reinsdorf. 'If it gets to a point that they are something bigger than life itself, then I've got to re-evaluate.' Insiders are convinced Floyd is headed in the wrong direction down a one-way career path. 'He's in a lose-lose situation there,' a league source said. 'If Rick Pitino doesn't take the (head coach) job at UNLV, then he should jump at it.'

It would be great if the Rockets where able to get Brand, or a piece that action. But what would they have to give up in return???

I think it would be way too much. But the side effect of this is that the teams rumored to be involved (Chicago, Atlanta, Blazers) would be done trading if a big trade would take place.

Therefore, leaving Reef out in the cold. Leaving the possibility for the Rockets to b*tch slap the Grizz again and take Reef for lessor value.

I highly doubt Brand will be traded and I think the article suggests more that he'll be kept than that he'll be traded. They'll fire Floyd ten times over before they trade Brand. They are certainly won't be trading Brand and others for Mourning. That would be the stupidest trade they could possibly do.

Also, what's with this: "The Bulls would have to include other players and/or draft picks to match Zo's enormous salary."? Draft picks don't count for salary.

    NO WAY.
IT ain't gonna happen. As Jerry Crause said that they will only trade Brand if they are overwhelmed by an offer and i really don't think we have anything to offer them in terms of players and draft picks that would overwhelm them unless Cat or steve or part of the deal.

    Hypothetical question:

Several draft projections in 1999 had Steve or Lamar Odom going #1 to the Bulls with Brand going #2 to the Grizzlies. If the Bulls had drafted accordingly and Brand had ended up in Vancouver, would the Grizzlies have the problems they're having now? The major problem I see with the Grizzlies is the over-abundance of finesse players. With a physical presence like Brand in the line-up, would the Grizzlies be in much better shape? Or would it matter?

Who's better: Kelvin Cato or Joe Barry Caroll?

    Take your time! :)

God damn, Brand isn't a god. We might do that if we dont have to give you the chair and neck brace.

You already took Roy rogers from us for that bum pippen.

    How about this trade:

    Rockets get:
    Brand

    Bulls get:
    Cato
    2 Ankle Braces
    2 Knee Braces
    Neck Brace
    Athletic Tape
    A chair

That way the Bulls get Cato and everything he needs to survive in the NBA. [IMG]

I think the only way Krause trades Elton is if he gets KG or a player of that magnitude. BTw, I wouldn't trade Francis for Brand right now.
