If i were the rox, i would call brand and see if he would play for 4 yrs 50m. Then i would call the clipps and ask them what they want other than Yao and Tracy. I would offer Scola, and Battier. They could sign Barnes and Davis at the 3 spot mle and let landry walk.
because the point of an expire contract is to get cap space, but if they are signing a player to get an expire space that they already have....what is the point of doing that, they can just not sign anybody and keep the money for next year....that will space the owner alot of money and plus battier isnt worth spending 12mils on
I was thinking the same thing. Put Brand inbetween Yoa and TMack and we have the best frontcourt in the leauge. Brand could also play spot duty at the 5. Teams would have a hard time defending our low post.
I second you guys. I would give Landry (S&T) and Battier, and even Scola if needed to get Brand. Yao, Brand, T-Mac would attract very good vets to play for us almost for free just to win championship.
I would forget about Magette and Brand, from what I read, this is what I think the Clippers are going to try and down. They won't have any interesting in resigning Magette, they won't be interested in any kind of sign and trade deal as they want to keep the cap space. They will then go hard after Baron Davis, hopefully sign him to a nice contract and then resign Brand so they have Brand and Davis on the same team, don't think they have enough cap room to add Magette to their roster, plus they already have a ready made replacement in their team in Thornton. Magette would only be avaliable for the MLE, if the Orlando rumours are true, they will have first refusal of Magette, which I don't think they'll pass on because I've heard they've already offered the full MLE to Magette, weather he signs for it or not is another thing all together.
