We are not a Beal away from contending, and his short contract likely does not give us time to build.
Realistically it would be a reload with Beal and Wood. There would be no assets left for a true rebuild after trading for Beal.
Exactly. It’s not 2017. We don’t already have our franchise player and sufficient complimentary pieces. We aren’t one All-Star away from contention, or one closer away from a title team the way we were prior to the CP3 trade. That said, I’m going to cry and go to bed.
A .500 team that adds a top 15 player in an inferior conference? Sure. Anything can happen. I think it’s abundantly clear last year’s Miami team got hot at the right time, and it was mainly the confluence of numerous breaks that fell in their favor to explain their [albeit impressive] Finals run. But if the implication is you simply add Beal to this mix and we get through the Lakers and have similar success, I have a therapist friend you should probably contact.
That would be an interesting poll to make: EG, PJ, House, or whatever salary we need to throw in + most of the nets picks from harden deal. Would you do it? I think I might Would WAS do it, probably, since the value really is on the picks, as per the harden deal we got. They can probably flip PJ for more picks wall, VO, Beal, plus wood/cousins upfront, with our defensive army of Tate, Nwaba, Brown + the rookies. We might be just a defensive backup Center away
I’m content with the rebuild and seeing what can happen Beal would cost a lot of assets and I wouldn’t trade for a star that was older than 24-25
