    Remember

the rockets didn't just have this pick (and thus just used it on someone), they bought it - and it sounds like they wanted to pick this guy up (since he said they have always been interested in him

Kid needs to bulk up a bit. he's frame is too small to be able to handel the type punishments he'll recive in the NBA. i think the Summer league will show us he's pros and cons. then we'll give him a proper program to work on the cons in he's game and we'll go from there.

BTW,he's sister is atleast 6'4. she's huge. is she a baller to?. you would think so?.

it was nice to see a player actually get excited about wanting to play for the rockets..it looked genuine...like he wants to play ball instead of just get paid..i hope he works out for us...

Great thread, I appreciate it when I am shown something I would otherwise not have been exposed to without the dedicated fans here at cc.net

I am fairly sure that was Brad's girlfriend in the video, she is a baller too in adelaide and would be 6ft 2 or so

Brad should be in houston now getting ready for his first summer league game so make sure you all keep us Aussies up to date on his progress... Houston is Australia's new favourite team! Go Rockets!

On Brad's games: I have watched every game of Brad's for the last 3 years and he has improved every facet of his game each and every year. he does need to bulk up a bit and improve his on the ball D but you will see a real offensive spark when he is on the floor. He attacks the basket very hard and can finish with a floater, dunk or with contact.

His help D is pretty good, as is his rebounding, look for him to get a board and take off on a coast to coast.

    Good luck Brad

DJROD- Welcome aboard mate! I hope Brad makes the team! We could sure use a dependable spot up shooter & slasher. I'm glad to hear he's in the Rockets Summer Squad! :)

The guy was just simply impressed with the organization and being with the Rockets. Hoping that he can make it to the roster and hope he contribute right away.

Not impressed...with the interview, it was unenthusiastic. I have no idea if Newley is going to work. Why are there no videos of Newley? I suppose basketball is not too popular is Aussie Land.

No one wants to comment on his mum Janelle being busy serving HOT DOGS and COFFEE throughout the draft?

Newley must have been so excited because he was finally able to hit the toilet after 4 hours of waiting.

I am going to try to watch some of the game today but as like all of the NBA games we get to watch, it is on during the middle of the day and i am supposed to be working ;)

A friend of mine is actually over there for his 21st so he is going to the game.

I don't think Brad will make the cut this year as his body need to get bigger so he can take hits from the biggest players in the world but if that is what is needed he WILL work on it. His nickname when he first got to Townsville to play was Noodles because he was that skinny, but that soon went away with some hard work.

I really think Brad is what the Rockets need at the moment though - slasher, scorer in a hurry, someone to give T-mac a few minutes and while he is off the scoreboard will keep ticking over! Good luck to him and the Rockets.
