You know, that video just shows that Brad Miller is not a pure point-center. He's a shoot-first point-center. Just like Steve Francis. Oh, wait, Francis isn't a center. :D

I think Yao's low post game will benefit from moving away from the basket more of the time. When Yao sets up away from the basket, it will create a lot more situations where he is moving when he recieves the ball near the basket and then puts it in. This movement will tend to make Yao's low post shots more aggressive and physical, since they don't start from a stationary position. Many times when I was watching a game last year, I wanted to see Yao throw his body around more. He's the biggest guy on the court every night.

Agreed. It also makes his moves less predictable. No Rocket fan can possibly feel good if he recalls Okur's comments regarding the defense on Yao in the last playoff series. One caveat of being more aggressive and physical on the low block is offensive foul. Hopefully Yao incorporates plenty of nimble moves he learned from Hakeem (and his old self, for that matter) in his game.

I'd also add that it's going to create more situations where Yao is single teamed and he has the angle to the basket. In those situations, because of his size, he is almost impossible to stop. He, like everyone, is much easier to defend when the defender can consistently get his whole body between Yao and the basket

    Exactly.

We don't mind if an old thread is bumped if it's still applicable, but this is just a waste of everyone's time.
