Sounds like a cool guy. Were Morey and he alluding to him liking the strip joints in Texas or what was that?
LOL at Brad making fun of Bosh and LeBrick. " Unlike LeBron, I'm not gonna announce my decision on television" "Where's my Ipad? My fiance wants an Ipad! "
Seems like a cool guy, surprised that one of the reporters mentioned that he was a "dirty player" because I never thought of him as a dirty player, and I'm very liberal in classifying players as "dirty."
That was Adam Wexler BTW, Brad Miller 1-on-1 with Jason Friedman(Not sure if already posted?) http://www.nba.com/rockets/video/2010/07/20/MillerIntvwFinalFinalmov-1377100/index.html
Yeah, he's a big hunter <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SY0W08QUYbQ&hl=en_US&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SY0W08QUYbQ&hl=en_US&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Miller is serviceable- not as good defensively as Chuck Hayes but a decent offensive threat for minutes at this stage of his career. Not was Daryl Morey really preferred- quoting Morey "And we'd like to potentially add a big if we can get it done. A rim-protecting one would be preferred." Brad in his prime was an OK rebounder but he never was a rim-protecting big and right now he would not put fear in many teams as far as being a shot blocker or shot changer in the paint.
From Feigen's latest article: [rquoter] Landing Miller, 34, was not as easy as picking up a dinner check. Several teams, including the Bulls, either offered full mid-level exception money (starting at $5.765 million) for three seasons or were expected to offer that much. Miller instead took a three-year Rockets offer that is worth, according to a person with knowledge of the deal, $4.4 million in 2010-11, $4.752 million in 2011-12 and $5.104 million in 2012-13, with $848,000 guaranteed in the final season. [/rquoter] Not as steep as originally reported. And if other teams really offered him more, it looks like the Rockets got a good deal relatively speaking.
I have a feeling this signing will be a blessing in disquise. When J.Noah misses him, it really says a lot about B.Miller. I believe he will bring unity and fun to the Rockets, importantly a player who cares more about winning than personal goals. A blue-collar team that fits the profile of Houston much better than the Three Amigos. I love Rockets, glad they didn't turn gangsta like those South Beach Heat.
