Dampier is the second best center in the league. B Miller is the best. So you know you are alone.
Dampier is not as good as Miller......... Miller can play the schemes already, Dampier is no threat at the high post, or actually anywhere on the floor. DD
Nah you are not alone on this. thought about it as well. I guess Rick the Ruler just loves the high post game and shooting of Miller instead the solid D of Damp who is another Chuck Hayes on offense. a taller one. If Rick can bring out the best of BMill then why not. He's been an allstar under him that says it pretty much.
hahhaahha u are not watching carefully enough dude .. since brad miller doesnt play power forward but CENTER.. its hard for me to take someones analysis seriously when they claim to watch the player a lot but not know what position he plays .. secondly you wanna know what else he provides.. passing .. if u have watched sac u know in ricks system the 15 ft jumper and passing is so vital .. and u knwo what else he brings .. 7 ft frame .. when was the last time miller played 10-14 min, last year he played the lowest min in a while and that was 24 minutes! and he gave them 9 points 5 rebounds in a system not as suited for him as our system will be .. and hello we needed someone to play like 25 min and be able to step in to start incase yao got hurt .. i think miller can do that
i have a feeling that the rockets think that Yao is not going to be recovered fully this year, and that we will rely on Miller much more than Yao. Miller is like a mini version of Yao. Plays well at the high post and passes well. Should be a key Rocket for us this year.
can you remind me when tha hell Dampier played good defense on anyone..? the guy never play defense nor offense, all he does crash the boards, the guy gets abused by the opponents centers on a daily bases.
no. i'm totally with you on that. he's hated on here cause he's a Mav but he would give us much more of what this team is lacking than Brad Miller.
I hope Brad teaches Yao how to play the high post. This would make Yao more durable and give him another weapon to his game. And if he doesn't, we'll still get to watch the high post game this year!
Everybody is waiting for morey's first glitch well this might be it .. But I can live with only 5 mil guaranteed .. But he doesnt add anything he's a rich man's David Anderson ..
DA can't dribble. DA can't pass. DA can barely dunk unless he's right under the rim....DA can't defend... Yeah, miller doesnt add anything
No way, as a BACK UP center with a partially guaranteed contract, this is a steal. This is our new Deke, more offensive than defensive for sure, his FT% is in the mid 80s, major high post threat with his passing, very exciting... should average 9 and 5 with 3 assists right away IMO...
 don't be surprised. Mavs used his corpse good then. After all he's useful. BMill is not good on D but he was an allstar after all. fair enough.
still waiting for morey's first superstar signing. this signing is so so. doesn't really hurt or help.
right.. going from no backup center to veteran, perfect-fit-for-system center is not helping. i don't understand this stupid logic that has ruined the thread.
Still waiting for the Geoff Petrie's, David Kahn's, Rod Thorn's etc etc etc's first superstar signing... The rockets have quality depth at every position, they have some scorers that can create their own shots or drain it from the outside when Yao is being double/triple teamed. Miller was a great addition and the contract was dictated by the market for him. This team is a solid wing 6th man away from serious contention. They have enough in the fold to make a trade now or midseason to get what they need. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do this season. Now THAT'S what its all about: the superstar signing in the making..coming in Feb 10.
Yes, Yao Ming definitely needs to be taught by Brad freakin Miller how to play the game. Are you serious? Yao is a 8 year veteran and the most dominant 2-way center in the league when healthy..he just needs to the play a little less and stay on the court and we'll be fine.
LOL, c'mon. You REALLY don't think Yao could stand to learn a thing or two from Miller about passing from the high post and hitting backdoor cutters? An EXTREMELY important skill for a center to possess in a read-and-react, Princeton-style offense?
i think people are forgetting that his third year is partially guaranteed. considering that, i think the rockets made out well in this acquisition. he still has a solid two (or three health baring) years left. however, the bigger question now is: when will morey acquire a big money superstar?
