Unless Brad Miller's AS calibre at this point of his career it's not worth bringing up. Former players are like crutches for coaches. It's crazy when they ask old players if they can trust them to not get injured or have anything left in the tank.
So many of Moreys moves have been questioned and almost all of them changed the questioners into daryl Morey we trust people. If Morey thinks he can help our team, then god damt he will help our team. And prove you disbelievers wrong.
Hmmm, a 11, almost 12 ppg avg a 7.5 rpg avg 11 year vet. Not bad for a totally sucking player. I would like a 7 foot player like that to back-up Yao. Also, if the coach likes him and still thinks he has game left, then I trust him JUSTTTTT a little bit more......
Have you ever gone to the shoe store and decided to get a different pair from the one you wanted because they were a little cheaper. After a week the shoe falls apart, and you're kicking yourself for being cheap and not getting exactly what you wanted. So you go get the pair you want but now you're stuck with 2 pairs and you've spent way more than you would have if hadn't been cheap This is how I feel about Brad Miller and David Anderson. Morey knew what Rick wanted, an "elbow center", and tried get a generic version. Several million down the drain. I don't think he'll even get a second chance this season.
The OP seemed to be suggesting that Brad Miller doesn't have any positive attributes other than some shooting, and this is based on years of watching him in Sacramento. I have to question his judgment on that. Miller was a very good player in Sacramento, and he excelled in particular playing in Adelman's system. If Miller was a scrub in those days, as implied by the OP, then Adelman would not have lobbied to bring him in. Maybe I misunderstood the OP and he's merely commenting on Miller's current abilities and not what he did in Sacramento.
You said he's stupid not me. And yes his only positive thing on offense is a faceup jumper.......what else does he have ?? Keep in mind he is turnin 35 years old and last year was by far his worst year scoring 8 ppg. Dude is weak deal with it.
Howd does Charlie Ward for JVG as a starter equal Adelman's trust in Brad Miller as a 2nd string C? They are 2 different circumstances and situations. I could see your point if Brad Miller was going to be our starting C.
I am curious how do you place a value on stink. You say Brad miller stinks and then go on to say he is worth no mre than 2.5 million. That's alot of stinking bucks for someone who smells as bad as you say he does.
WOW!!!!! Yao hasn't played basketball in over a year and you think he's just going to all of a sudden pop up on the court like he never left... Please let's get serious... The Rockets need a center with height and that's what they got with Brad...
We've been screaming about extra premium protection for Yao for a while now. Though better late than never. Miller did actually start half the season last year in real NBA games. So did Chuck Hayes, but still how many free agent centers that played 82 games at center last year are on the market? Considering Miller's best years was playing with Adelman in his offense, though I still think the price is a bit much it makes the premium less risky.
