word. i think he's a piece that fits the puzzle very well and his ability to stretch the floor and play on the offensive side, does allow our best front court defender to play the four some addl. minutes while brad is on the court. moreover, everyone complaining about paying a backup 5 mil seems to forget that yao may be done. if he is, then we've got a starting center for 5 mil. oh and we were going to pay gortat more than this just last year. in the world of basketball economics, # of years is what generally makes a bad contract. For all intents and purpose, this is a 2 year deal. pretty hard to too wrong with that.
I do tend to agree that the per 36 minutes thing is only a look at this type thing. Also there are reasons Miller could only get 23 minutes a game for a 41-41 team in the east.
Yeah baby!! I just came in and saw the great news!!! We are now stacked at every position!!
How long are you guys thinking Brad Miller will be with the Rockets? He's just a stopgap. If Les wants to spend the $ and believes in Adelman, I'm all for it. If he can hold his own for a couple of years, that's cool with me. By the time he finishes his contract, we will have the $ to get a young backup C. I'm not worried.
Rockets went into free agency hoping to sign Chris Bosh but they end up signing Brad Miller. Good job rockets
I didn't even want him at 3mil/yr... Rockets keep securing themselves for mediocrity for this next season.
That or people think it's a great move because Morey signed him. I can damn near guarantee if any other team gave him this contract everyone on the board will be saying how dumb that team was.
I don't see why we have to give Philly an asset(in Hill), when we're helping them out of a really overpriced contract in Iggy... If anything Philly would be lucky to get... ........ Ariza Jeffries(expiring) 2012 HOU 2nd round pick for Iggy ........ Given that we're the ones taking on the overpriced contract! --RB
Not really we have been burned by paying to much for nothing. 23 million last year for a no-show job. and this guy
We have been asking for a young backup Center for years now. It just hasn't happened and at this point I doubt it will happy anytime soon.
Miller was a full time starter who averaged close to a double double until last season with Chicago. He is fully capable of being a backup to Yao
Glad we finally got this guy. I remember how hard Rudy T pressed to get this guy from the CBA when he came out of Purdue.
