Everyone heard about the gag gifts that AB and JJ got the team for christmas, such as an alarm clock for terrence williams, etc... According to Daryl Morey on 1560 the game, Brad Miller got a gift for Aaron Brooks as well. It was a plaque that contains the names of all the starting point guards in the league and their salaries, and AB is ranked second last. So maybe this might have played on his mind?
LOL @ Miller. If AB took that to heart then he is mentally weak like I've always thought. Rookie contract is just that. A rookie contract. No non-lotto Starting PG is getting more money than AB.
Don't know if this story is true. If it is, it wasn't a good idea. You can tell from the way the kid's playing lately. Didn't get his contract + not starting + easy-to-trade current contract = games like last night. He's already distracted. He was throwing the ball away, dribbling into heavy traffic, getting so smoked on "d" that either HIS guy or his teammate's guy would score (because the teammate would have to leave his own dude to play help "d").
That’s messed up….but it’s hilarious! AB doesn’t seem like a guy that would find that funny or with much of a sense of humor.
If true, that was a foul. AB is not some rookie or d-league project. He's this team's co-captain until further notice.
Aaron Brooks talked about the gag gifts and even brought this one up himself with a smile. This must have been about a week ago on Rockets' live. Let's not get carried away with another conspiracy.
Whar a bunch of joyless bunch of tightasses who can't take a joke. I would hope AB is a better human being than you people seem to be.
That should have motivated Brooks more to play better and earn the big bucks next year. Instead, he is playing worse than any PG in the league even getting torched by 3rd string bench PGs. Very sad. Not in a million years would Aaron brooks would destroy Billups like Lowry did last night. Lowry is getting better by the day. Aaron is moving the opposite way.
Exactly. And I'm glad Brooks took it like an adult. I think Aaron is a pretty good-natured kid. Don't think he's very good at leadership, but I think he's practical, good-natured, and likes to have a good time. The unquestioned locker room leader on this team is Shane. Then Hayes. Don't know who would come close to their influence with the rest of their teammates if they were traded. Not for sure Lowry has that aspect of the game down very good either. Brad, because of his vet status, may be the next thing to a locker room leader after Battier and Hayes.
Guys rag on each other all the time. We do the same kind of thing here at work. It's funny. If he's too sensitive to take good-natured joking, then I doubt he's tough enough to be a starter. Fortunately, that doesn't appear to be the case.
It depends on their relationship. If they are good friends, it's one thing. If they are not, it's bad. And even if you are good friends, there are some things that are still hurtful. Like if someone is overweight and they know it. It's something a friend may make a joke about, and the overweight person laughs it off to not appear as a bad sport, but it still hurts.
