Haha yea I agree, especially after they threw another jab with the "he didn't go into the shower" reference.
I'm afraid this will be a Charlie Ward, Weatherspoon type signing - coach's pet on the last legs of his career.
He was a restricted free agent coming out of Charlotte. Rudy liked him from the Olympics days, and we explored doing a sign and trade using a ~4m trade exception we had (it might've even be acquired from the Olajuwon trade?). But Charlotte said no dice.
Thought about him but Brad had no problem calling out Artest later in the press conference about taking liberties in straying outside the offensive system. So I wouldn't think Brad would have a problem calling out Ron in that instance either. Plus I was thinking of a big man since Brad would have been likely guarding one of the Rockets big man, so that's why I was thinking Jordan Hill. But then again, Brad mentioned he didn't know much about Jordan later in the press conference so now I'm doubting it was him. And also he says that player was in the wrong place, so yeah it most likely wasn't a big man he was guarding. Now I'm probably thinking it was someone like Von Wafer.
Brad looks REALLY thin. I know he was told a couple of seasons ago in Sacramento that he should shed some lbs. to help his game and prolong his career, but he looks almost mal-nourished in that vid.
hes a funny dude. Im really looking forward to his veteran leadership. Depending on Yao's health we could be seeing alot of this guy for the next 3 years. It will be nice to have another center that can stretch the floor with his shooting ability. He seems excited to be in H-Town which is good too.
I know it's uber lame to quote one's self, but Wexler and MattJ were pontificating who that player was that Brad was referring to, and they think it was a player from last year, so that throws out Artest and Wafer.
Plenty of good quotes. My favorite was "Far from dirty like Reggie Evans" when he was asked about physical play. Also, when he was talking about Rick's system of ball movement he mentioned that Rick values the ball exchanging hands on the offensive end or else he'll bench the player except for Ron Artest. At that point, it was obvious that Morey was trying to hold in his laughter. The Lebron jab was also clever. "I'm not Lebron and I'm not sure I would do a TV special. That's just not me" The Chris Bosh recruiting reference was cool: "He gave Rick two books instead of an IPAD and a book. My fiance need an IPAD, man" He also dissed Chuck Hayes indirectly.
