Rockets fans are so pathetic that the only thing they can do is to bash their star players day in and day out.

Maybe it's a better idea for Yao to move on the Lakers so that the Lakers fans can enjoy him, and the Rockets can also quit whining.

That's because a certain point guard that likes to point to imaginary figures while dunking will still be here.

If there was no disagreements there wouldn't be much of a point to this or any bbs. Brad vs. Yao isn't about true or false, it's an opinion.

By the way, the Rox just played the Kings. Who were the players that hurt the Rox? I am certain Miller was not one of them.

Also, why "Miller" over "Yao" is hot topic only on the Rox BBS? Aren't you supposed to be Yao fans?

Those games have been spread throughout the year. Miller like all players has off-games. When people say Yao's inconsistent it because he seems to go through stretches where he's putting up 20/10 consistently then all os sudden he's putting up 10/6 for a stretch.

I do agree that Miller doesn't face the defense that Yao does.

You completely missed my point and made one of my points at the same time. I gave counterpoints to my points to show that it's not clear cut and I recognize this. I don't disagree with the point that Miller gets more assists because he has better teammates.

I think Miller deserves the all-star spot more than Yao. That's not my main point though. My main point is that I think it's absurd that people find it CRAZY to think Brad Miller deserves the spot more than Yao. An argument can be made for Brad Miller and for people to think that's crazy is well...crazy.

While Brad Miller hasn’t been faced with double teams much this season, I think a lot has to be said about Miller playing the 4 spot as well as he has. He’s been facing the likes of Garnett, Duncan, Randolph, Brand, Dirk, and all of the great power forwards of the West all season long and for the most part has been able to hold his own. He is a natural center (he’s tall and slow) and has been forced to play out of position all season long.

I’m sure if Brad Miller had to face the double teams Yao does, he would not fair too well, but at the same time, if Yao had to guard and be guarded by all the great forwards in the West night in and night out, I don’t think he would do that great either.

No one is crazy. We just have different opinion from yours. I do not think Miller deserves more than Yao because:

    (1) Miller's teammates are much superior to those of Yao's. Yao does not have a group of players like Peja, Bibby, BJ, Christie and Divac. These guys are all supperb team players. On the other hand, Yapo's teammates are mostly superb individual players. When you play with team players you look good.

    (2) Miller's presence is usually not a concern to the opponent teams, while Yao's is.

    (3) Miller does not play the center position (Divac is the center for the Kings) while Yao has been ranked as the top center ever since Shaq got his injury problem.

    (4) Miller's skills and talent is obviously not as good as Yao at the center position. If you can honestly say that you want Miller to be the center of your team over Yao, I would say that you are crazy.

    (5) Miller is just as inconsistent as Yao if not worse.

    (6) Miller is far less popular than Yao, and Allstar is all about popularity.

Would that be enough for you?

Yep. Got NBA League Pass. Miller's been more consistent than Yao. Yao seems to go on stretches where he's about 20/10 and then he'll go to 10/6. Miller has off games and slumps too, but they're not as pronounced.

This was in my response, but it seems like you missed it. Best player on the Kings? Chris Webber. Games Webber has played this year? 0. The guy that's in place of Webber? Brad Miller.

I don't think I lost any credit. But if I did, oh well. I've missed one Rockets game this year and I also watch a lot of the other games. I'm not a basketball expert nor do I claim to be, but I have an opinion and I'm voicing it.

The talk of Defense has really come about this year and it's due to great team defense. I would credit Jeff Van Gundy's system and philosophy for this.

I agree that the media has alterior motives, but picking Brad Miller over Yao is not a media savy move. also, I don't think all of these media guys are picking Brad Miller or Shaq to sell papers. some maybe, not all.

    Based on this: http://www.nba.com/playerfile/brad_miller/index.html?nav=page
Miller is a natural forward. Playing center is out of position for him. That is why he is doing much better this year than the previous 5 NBA seasons. He is 7'0 and pretty quick. That is his advantage in playing with those smaller but equally or less quick PF's.

He faced those guys (Garnett, Duncan, Randolph, Brand, Dirk, ...) when he played cneter before. His primary job when he played for the Pacers was to guard opp's best big man.

I think you're missing my main argument. While I do think Miller deserves to be an all-star over Yao, my main reason for arguing for Miller is because people are suggesting it's crazy to pick Miller or Shaq over Yao.

I've pointed out these analysts opinions because they (although are biased too) are probably more objective than Houston Rockets fans. I'm not saying that because analysts have picked B. Miller/Shaq that those guys should go to the allstar game. I'm using the analysts' opinions to make a point that Miller/Shaq over Yao is not a crazy thought.

Brad Miller's name is on the all-star ballot as a center.

Your link is also deceptive. Brad Miller is not listed because CBS Sportsline didn't list him as a center.

Using your own argument against you....
who is ranked higher on CBS Sportsline? Miller or Yao?
    http://cbs.sportsline.com/nba/playerrankings/regularseason/OVERALL

    Miller is #15
    Yao is #38

I think Yao's number will be skyrocketed if he play for the Kings while Miller's number will be plummeted if he play for the Rox. One reason Miller is thriving is cuz of the Kings superious passing and the system that Adelman is running. On the other hand, Yao had to contend with one of the worst passing team in the league with the lowest total assist output per game and still he's determined to play well and at time dominate on both end of the court. If voting for All-Star starter is based on talent, surely Yao will beat Miller in every way imaginable. If the voting is based on popularity, Yao will come on top again. Miller is best to be voted in by the coaches as a PF.

I think that you forgot a guy named Peja who has developed an inside game to go with his outside game this year to become arguably the best SF in the league this year.

Let I said before, let's trade Yao and Miller and it will be interesting to see what Miller will bring to the Rockets (probably great impact), and what Yao can do when being surrounded with a group of pure shooters like Peja, Bibby. Even BJ is a much better outside shooter than SF.

Miller's assists in Kings's system is overstated. Put Yao at the high post and his passes to Peja, Bibby and BJ will result in automatic assists. And if Yao played for the Kings, he would have faced less DTs than he has when playing for the Rockets.

    And the bottom line is:

You Miller fans can have him all you want. The Rockets fans please enjoy Yao when he is still in town. I think that he is leaving for LA in 2 1/2 years unless they bring in a traditional PG and a TMac/Kobe to Houston.

Peja has become better (shooting better, scoring a little more), but the bigger reason for the Kings success without Webber this year is the addition of Brad Miller.

Trade Yao to NY please. Yao has a bigger impact on the game than Miller ever will. I don't disagree with that.

I think Miller is a good player and he seems cool. But Yao is my favorite player in the league.

Munco, you're an idiot--.. well.. okay I take that back...but saying what other people say..(Barkley, Smith, etc)...that's not the debate here. In the instance of All-Star starters...their vote counts equally as yours or mine. A counter argument to Barkley and Smith, are my friend and my vote towards Yao. Every individual opinion carries the same weight, so please stop talking about what Barkley, and Marc Stein, say.

Yao does anchor the team defense.. Sure Mobley and Jackson play well up top, but who is it preventing the lay-up once the wing defender get's passed up? Yao in the paint.

Brad miller has NO such intimidation..gimme a break.......

If there are more fans with you, munco, B. Miller will for sure be an allstar starter. Yet, it is not true and there are not many fans share the same point with you. sorry.
