I feel like punching Curry. Rockets need more media attention. We have the best GM. I'm the best player in the world.
Harden is reminding me of TMac from 08-09. Remember, TMac had an MVP caliber season the year before. He played his heart out in the 1st round series that we had no hope of winning without Yao Ming. Had his knee drained multiple times and still put up 40 on one leg in the final game. Next season, he came out like a bum on both ends of the court. C'mon Harden, you're better than this. At least TMac had lost his athleticism by that point. Harden hasn't had that signature "Toronto game" moment, but there's plenty of season left.
but but but IM THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD!!! poor Adiddas, signed another players whose shoes aren't going to sell
heh, they signed Harden to push their lifestyle brand, similar to their initiative with Kanye West. They're not only targeting sports-wear but casual wear too, worn by both men and women. Which is why the Kardashian effect is so good for him (and Kanye West) Have you seen how the Kardashians all spam Kanye West clothes on their social media?
I was all ready with a joke about how this was somehow McHale's fault, but I see a few posts beat me to it already. Oh wait, those were serious!
The author isn't wrong. Dwight has been noticeably worse defending the rim this season. It's not all his fault, mainly because the guards have been terrible at defending the perimeter, but Dwight has given the defensive production you normally expect. Once again, though...the whole team has been a disaster. Hard to single anybody out.
this gif shows a brief glimpse Hardens "effort" on D last night... they left out atleast two more backcuts, numerous blow bys and terrible rotations.
Coaching and accountability matters. It's not like Harden did not respond to these things in the past. I do worry that he does not take his role as leader of the team seriously. Being a leader is not only raw performance, or even insisting on excellence, but also being an example for others to follow. Practicing the right way, doing the little things, the attention to detail- Harden needs to be better. He has drifted into this too-cool-for-school thing. If he really wants to be the best in the NBA he has to bring it every night.
if anything he cared too much. placed extra pressure on himself with all that mvp/best player in the league talk in the pre-season.
I don't like to get personal and involve a player's personal life in comments (Kardashian etc.). The big difference last year was in losses, Harden took it on his shoulders. This year, he is blaming others and citing "we need to be better" rather than "I got to dominate on both ends of the floor". Also, last year, he acknowledged his lack of defense and tried. This year, I haven't heard him mention anything about his defense. He blames the team when clearly the problem is that Ariza has to run cross court to cover his defender and Dwight can't stay on his man because Harden's guy has slid over to the rim. All that might be ok if you have a twin tower lineup and people are guarding the rim and snagging boards. But rebounding has always been our issue. There is no escape. He has to stay in front of his man. He cannot ask for a power forward who can rebound and defend. He has to man up to his guy on defense. Once he adds a defensive game, only then will he be MVP. I don't see guys slide past Steph Curry as much as they do past Harden. His game offensively is top notch. But I've never seen a player so dominant on the offensive end but be an ABSOLUTE liability on defense. Even Dirk wasn't this absent on defense.
How does someone with such beautiful stepback and euro footwork not move quick enough to stand in front of a scrub driving to the basket.
Yeah it's now you realize what some of us have been saying for years. Talks about your limited basketball foresight. Better late then never
