Its really just the media outlets trying to create some buzz, any attention is good attention for them.

Although IF Harden somehow does not get MVP, then media conspiracy confirmed.

The NBA will flag it and have it removed.

Lebron James deserves to be considered for the MVP.
The reason Lebron deserves to be considered is that his performance and stats warrant consideration in the MVP conversation.

Based on statistics, the following players also deserve consideration :
    DeMar DeRozan (Toronto),
    Giannis Antetokounmpo (Milwaukee Bucks),
    Damian Lillard (Portland)
    Anthony Davis (New Orleans)
    Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets)

However, there is a difference in being considered for the MVP and being the front runner.
When you factor in statistics and wins, James Harden has earned the MVP.
Last year was an aberation with Russell Westbrook winning the award.

It basically comes down to the person that has helped his team win the most games.
This year, that person is James Harden.

Harden is not getting the pub of an MVP candidate, his accomplishments are being marginalized because Lebron is putting up numbers. Now people (The Jump) are coming around to this whole 2 awards: MVP and Best Player.

People agree Harden is the MVP, but they don't want to say he is the best player, even though he is playing the best ball. It's kind of disrespectful IMO.

I find it really odd the amount of publicity Lebron is getting just because he is 33...

    Wait a minute.. GEMATRIA 33!! @RocketsTruth

they don’t want to call him the best player in the NBA due to his postseason performances...we all know Harden is a regular season gawd, but people can’t get over some of the low points he’s had in the playoffs

It seems clear now: he WILL WIN, period. The only thing to look out would be him winning unanimously, which won't happen (he will get close to 95pc 1st place votes though). So, as summarized before: "this conversation is closed", Nichols, R.

To be fair, nobody was calling Westbrook the best player last season, or Curry or Rose etc.

People ARE, however, introducing Harden in GOAT Offensive Player conversations.

Harden and Houston are rising fast !!!

That's because Harden was playing better than Westbrook and they were trying to make an excuse why they were voting for Westbrook instead of Harden.

He wasn't called the best because he wasn't the best. Same with Curry, Rose, Durant and every other candidate the past 30 years not named Jordan, Shaq, Duncan or LeBron.

The media is showing Harden plenty love with these Greatest Offensive Player conversations.

I don't know about that. They were laughing at MDA for saying it initially. A couple people are coming around to it though like Tim Legler. For the most part, many don't agree and laugh it off not giving it serious conversation.

Someone has probably said it already, but I highly doubt they’ve give it to LBJ with him leading a team that’s gotten blown out in as many games as his had all year. It was down right embarrassing some nights.

Statistically he is even worse than the infamous 2015-2016 James Harden, who won the Shaqtin' a fool MVP and had a youtube video made of clips showing his lack of effort defensively.

From eye test, the effort level of this year's Lebron and 2015-16 season Harden are close, but Harden was a better 1 on 1 defender. So I would say, at least in the regular season, that year's Harden performed better defensively than this year's Lebron. But that year gave Harden the reputation of the worst defender in the NBA; this year no media members seems to be aware of Lebron's disastrous defensive performance.
