I’m sorry to tell you then news, but if you are incapable of differentiating alternative motives in certain people with regards to a political group, you’re probably the idiot (not probably, but I’m trying to be nice).
I could tell you that "if" Harden wants to get away from Houston, then of course Russ wants to play in his hometown with his buddy...oh and Kawhi! I have no sources, just taking a logical guess. I am also not saying Bra did not get that from a source...its just more common knowledge than a rumor. I would also bet that Russ and Harden want to win a title together this year and shut everyone up.
Lmao. What Russ wants is having fun where he is from. I do not think PG wins anything. Bubble PG and Playoff Russ.
Article claims offers being made league wide https://nba.nbcsports.com/2020/11/0...ying-before-nba-free-agency-officially-opens/ Of the 3 mentioned, Meyers Leonard might be had. Would be great if Aron Baynes gave us a hometown discount.....even though he is from New Zealand. Holding up a sign, “Will work for Landry’s food!”
Plus (like Baynes) a seriously underrated rim protector! Haven't checked lately, but I recall them both having very good advanced defensive metrics close to the rim
He is the best 3ball shooting 5 available and pretty good roller. But his defense reeks to high heaven.
Favors. Great rim protector and solid rim roller . He will shore up the frontline on defense. Favors, Tucker and Covington will form a formidable defensive trio up front
you nailed it. 91st percentile at 3pt proficiency. 99th percentile at rim proficiency. surprisingly 92nd percentile in defensive rebounding. all of these things are exactly what we need. his defensive struggles are a bit overblown. he has a -0.6 defensive RAPTOR rating which is far from good, but basically average. he was a big positive on dPIPM with 1.49. strangely he also had a -1.7 offensive RAPTOR and a -1.01 oPIPM which is pretty bad on offense. its like some bizarro world where guys who are great from 3 and at the rim, and get no defensive stats, are somehow bad on offense and good on defense. of course he played limited minutes and usually against the second or 3rd units so take all of that with a grain of salt. he's no starting center. he's no MLE player. but for the minimum could he give us good minutes as part of the rotation? yes. would he be willing to leave the heat for a minimum contract? probably if its a 1&1 and he's offered a spot in the rotation.
The Rockets would be very lucky to get Favors because he is essentially a better version of Capela. Defensively he is elite and brings strength and can protect the rim with a 7’5” wing span. The issue with Favors is he will take your entire TP MLE (unless another deal is made first). Second he doesn’t shoot 3’s which limits his success with Westbrook on the floor. He also only really plays 25 minutes a night. The positives are defensively the Rockets are a top 5-10 team in the league with him on the floor. He is a good enough athlete to switch most the time so defensively he shouldn’t need to be taken off the court. He can play off Harden as a finisher when Westbrook is off the court. He is an exceptional rebounder with his huge wingspan, broad shoulders and strength. It isn’t a stretch to say he could collect close to a dozen rebounds in only 25 minutes. He is also a very good rim protector against bigger players. Defensively he can be matched up against Anthony Davis or Joel Embid. The question is do you want to spend your full MLE and risk the apron for someone that cannot really play well with Westbrook? Do you want to use the full MLE on someone that will play half a game? A rotation of Favors/Tucker at the 5 and Covington/Tucker at the 4 for 48 minutes a game would be elite, top 5-10 in the league. House can guard 3’s and 4’s above average as well. Harden has been a good defender the last couple years as well... Gordon is passable as well... that is a good defensive team.
