Scola will give you the same numbers and a long term commitment. Boozer will get injured and leave at first chance.
I'm happy to know that DM is our manager... Scola for Boozer is NEVER going to happen unless they are willing to give us their first round picks every other year for the next 20 years and take Cook's contract. Scola is everything that Boozer is not. Boozer has put up some nice stats but he is whinny, injury prone, overpaid, undersized, jerk with no character and no loyalty. Oh ya, he ain't much better at bball than Scola if any.
We wouldnt trade for Boozer, but I don't see why we couldn't possibly be involved in a 3-way trade with Utah and someone that really wants Boozer. That seems plausible to me.
Actually Boozer is better than Scola. There is no denying that. Scola is better person and teammate but not a better player. From top to bottom physically bigger, stronger, rebounding, points, and even age wise by 2 years. it would actually be an OK deal because you get 2 more years out of Boozer if he stayed but thet are probably not going to consider it when you consider their absolute stances on always staying with certain players loyaly to a fault like Scola and Battier. Like Yao and Tmac before them until they are no longer good or tradeable. What makes more sense is to listen to Utah about Boozer at least and give them Scola for Boozer if we have a guy in a three team deal like Amare, Bosh, or Joe Johnson coming to us for the team we give Boozer to in a three team trade. Maybe throw in a extra guy to make things work if its for Bosh or Joe Johnson. All we give up is Scola to get a star back in that deal and still dont have to keep Boozer as he is the trade baite and one of our players like say?? Maybe Battier if we get Joe Johnson in return? Maybe Lowry if we get Bosh in return? Boozer for Scola would be good to though.
Exactly. A multi-team trade that gets Boozer to Miami....but I'd prefer giving up Landry rather than Scola to the Jazz, I'd puke if we lost Scola to that team, more so than Popovich does when he thinks of losing Scola to us. But Utah does need to shed salary, and so OKC, Portland, and Memphis must be more popular right now than people who own pickup trucks ("heeey, buddy, can I borrow....?")
I dont want Boozer. Ever. The only player from the Jazz I would ever want on my team ever would be Deron Williams. No one else. I wont say Scola is better, but I would never take Boozer over him ever. I dont like him.
Boozer for Scola exchange? Hell no! Boozer seems like he could kill our locker room team chemistry. I like my scrapping and hard-working team thanks. No! There aren't enough letters in the word 'no' to express the 'no-ness' of my thoughts.
LOL! Ok. I guess our memories show why we always have a hard time competing. Here we are on the brink of extinction for competing ever again yet we wont accept players because of grudges as fans. Yet the perrenial Championship Lakers took our best player Artest after he nearly punched their god like worshiped franchise player Kobe and they hated us so much they cheered Battier bloodied and Artest tossed yet they understand being better and winning. it shows the attitude between winning and small minded grudges Rockets fans hold. All I want is winning for the team I love and that is what true fans should want more than emotions and grudges. Scola in no way equals winning without a star or two which we have none of. Boozer just a year ago was being talked of with Williams as able to lead the Jazz to the Finals. LOL! comical really the differences between Championship teams and losing teams.
Artest and Kobe has had a long understanding than that, it's understandable. And while Boozer is superior, I would not trade Scola for him, as Boozer demands a lot more money, has a history of injury, and is a mess towards the locker room in general. Scola's not that much worse than Boozer and is paid a lot less, so I wouldn't do it for cap concerns.
Ditto for Boozer. We might win a few more games with him (assuming he isn't injured, of course), but Carlos Boozer is no superstar. You can't build a contender around him. Scola's no cornerstone either, but he plays hard, puts up consistent numbers, and starts every game. He's the type of player that makes you proud to be a Rockets fan. Boozer has proven time and again that he has no heart.
