Holy ---- that's scary. With Rodan on the team, they'll go 16-0 next season (even, owing to the player boycott, with a 17-man roster and two-way players). Of course, overconfident, they'll then blow the Superbowl to a crappy Giants squad. Won't matter: Rush Limbaugh will feel no pain.
i love it...according to giddyup, we can't take a racists' own words as proof he's a racist. hey giddyup, remember my comment about your wife? how arrogant of you to be upset by that. you don't know what i really meant. now i DEMAND an apology for your arrogance.
No, I know the Rush Limbaugh who said: - one of the merits of slavery was that the streets were safer after dark - the man who admitted to murdering MLK deserved a medal of honor - the NFL looks like a gang fight between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons - of blacks, "they're 12% of the population. Who the hell cares?" - to a black female caller: "Take that bone out of your nose and call me back." Now how ever did I get the idea that he's a racist? I guess since there are a couple of black people who are willing to appear on his show, he's ok.
I stand shamed and corrected by superior Rodan knowledge. I had forgotten fire rodan completely. I am clearly an inferior here, like whimpy Anguirus to Godzilla.
I could not be happier -- my head is exploding with two of my favorite topics combined: the abuse of Robitussin DM and Japanese monster movies.
Cool. Robitussin DM = I wasn't sure if OxyContin is available in a prescribed (purple) lliquid form...
rush is the most dominant figure in radio for a reason. who knows what the guy really believes but he knows what to say to play to his base and how to constantly stir up controversy. he is a shock jock.
So I guess it's okay to cite DailyKos or Josh Marshall? Please forward a list of the approved vendors for thought! I'll have to look at the video again before I comment, but first I want to relay a story told to me a year and a half ago by my then 6-YO daughter. She was at a public pool with her summer camp group. This older but still young black boy took to bossing her around. She didn't quite know what to say or do but she in some way told the kid that he was not her boss. He said to her: ~"Oh yeah... white people have been bossing us around for a hundred years... now it is our turn." When she told me this story, we had a nice long conversation and concluded that skin color is immaterial... that what matters is how you treat people and how they treat you. Don't think I'm blaming this on Obama; I'm just relaying a story that happened to my daughter in the recent past-- prior even to Obama's election.
Rush always identifies himself as an entertainer and not a journalist. I'm pretty sure his high aim is to make people laugh-- just like Chris Rock aims. Why the double standard? Dennis Miller gets slayed for his conservative views. Steven Colbert gets ratings for his mockery of conservatism... and Rush Limbaugh gets pilloried while people like Chris Rock and even Richard Pryor ride racist humor to the top. Why is it impossible to consider that it is just part of Rush's act (I cite Williams and Sowell as evidence) but so easy to consider that it was just part of Rock's or Pryor's?
Are you referring to the short clip? The very first line in the clip is "he (the white kid) deserves to be beat up..." Yes sir, that really sounds like a serious commentary is to follow. The target of Rush's ire is Newsweek Magazine and their portrayal of the incident.
I'm referring to Limbaugh and the like complaining that when media report when they say something stupid, they immediately claim that it is taken out of context, despite the fact that they are direct (audio or video) quotes. And yes, that one clip I provided (and, as SF_rules noted, there are many others) = res ipsa loquitur. Adding: you do know what's a great cure for head explosions, don't you? DM that ----, B-Bob. Generally, the best use of these people is to get the underlying facts/research - and then you can conduct your own analysis. Please do so. I'm curious to hear how you interpret it.
If Rush did become the Rams owner, I will cheer like hell for them eventhough I have no feelings for them now. BTW, Mathias Kiwanuka and Bart Scott are fakers and hypocrites. The NFL or professional sports are all about the greens, the colors which those two know so well. They will come down from their high horse if Rush is waving a big fat contract in front of them!
