I think he meant the fight should've stop earlier so to prolong Margarito's career. I'm surprise his corner didn't stopped the fight after the 7th round...you have to protect your fighter period. So is this a record, 8 titles from 8 different weight class?
Marg's got an iron chin but what does that matter when all those punches were slipping between his gloves straight into his eyes. That mouse was full sized by the 3rd round and just got more and more purple. I thought it was gonna burst or something. And LOL at Michael Buffer: "Leeeeeeeetttttttt's - Get the party started!" I hate you Jerry Jones for thinking we needed Nelly to kick start this fight.

That is how Margarito always fights. Comes forward and tries to bring pressure. Except he didn't get Pac on the ropes as much as he wanted. Pac throws so many punches that you almost have to throw back just to keep the round close on the scorecards. Great performance by Manny. Please, no Shane Moslet next. I want to see Pac fight back at 140 with all the young studs or be crazy and fight the winner of Williams-Martinez II. But Floyd is the first choice, obiviously. I just don't understand why people think Manny doesn't stand a chance against Floyd. Sure, Floyd may be the favorite but it's not going to be a walk in the park like most are saying. I want to see how he handles Pac's movement and footwork. He's not just going to stand in front of Floyd and throw punches. Add everything Manny brings to the fact that he is Southpaw, because Floyd doesn't fight many southpaws. Mainly because southpaws have a chance to give him the most problems.
Manny's only chance against Floyd is volume and I just don't think it will be enough. Manny's getting hit a lot lately (even Clottey and Margs got to him) and that's not good against Floyd. I see it going similar to the Judah/Mayweather fight. Manny starts quickly (3 of the first 4 rounds or 2/1 and 1 close 1) and then it gets kind of ugly for Pac. I think Williams and Martinez are too big for manny. While I'd love to see those fights I don't think he would see the final bell and at this point I doubt he wants to get stopped. He's already got one foot out the door and his legacy is cemented. I'm completely with you on the SSM fight. Nobody wants to see that. I'd rather manny just retire if he and Floyd can't work out a fight. maybe fight a farewell fight in the Phillipines or something. No need to continue to fight guys coming off losses. Lastly, I think fans need to appreciate both Manny and Floyd for what they are. I'm a fan of both guys. Appreciate manny's win and leave it at that. Both guys are responsible for us not seeing the fight. If Manny's clean he should take the test and Floyd should stop whining and beating up women. Neither has honestly tried to make the fight happen no matter what the other side says.
Marg couldn't do a full swing punch becuase Manny was too quick. He tried to do a big punch but it ended up him being too open for Pac's killer punch that moved Marg one step back. Too bad Pacman didn't follow up with his 6combo punches.
