I think this is mostly all in his mind, he sees what he wants to see, granted the grappling can be boring but it's not about the nuts in the face Bernard. Who can blame him though, he did serve time, he's probably seen or done some things that would make any of us overly concerned with the homoerotic, it's okay Bernard what happened in prison stays in prison.

I don't remember where I saw it but it was some old school boxing promoter and he had this same stance on UFC/MMA which makes me think these guys, boxer types, are more than a little concerned with MMA's impact on the boxing fan base. All I've ever heard from the MMA side is them inviting the boxers to step in the ring.

Boxing created it's own problems with no central governing body, honestly even a system as horrible as the BCS system would improve things in the boxing world.

Actually I've heard this from quite a few people/fans, people that don't make any money from the sport and some even watch MMA. Obviously MMA isn't gay but...come on. There are points in some of these matches where both men (dressed in small tights) are grappling each other on the ground for extended periods of time. I wouldn't be surprised if homosexuals enjoyed watching that (would you?).

I think the MMA fighter beating a boxer in the ring is a little blown out of proportion. Any quality MMA fighter that loses to a boxer in their ring should be ashamed of himself, the same is true for boxers. Now, it would be interesting to see how a top boxer with a significant amount of MMA training fairs.

Something I don't get is why this is seen as just something the gay community would want to watch. It's a bunch of ripped dudes running around being macho, why doesn't anyone accuse this of being marketed towards women?

probably a little simplistic but mayweather said that fighters off the street can join MMA and win, maybe even win a title. fighters off the street in boxing would get killed and he meant death.
