Another embarrassing performance by VT in a big game. Please fire Beamer and Stinespring. Hell even the defense is getting ate up
I've heard the stuff about him wanting to go there 4 years, blah blah blah. Andrew Luck should leave Stanford and go to the NFL. Jim Harbaugh should leave too. Both guys have had a great season and took Stanford to a level it's never been before. The NFL calls. Shaud, people forgot about Stanford after the Oregon game. I've mentioned this before, but if one particularly huge, game-changing (sort of fluke) play didn't happen in the 2nd half, I'm not certain Oregon would have won. IMO, Stanford is no doubt better than TCU and is the 3rd best team in the country. VaTech didn't belong on the field with them and I am not surprised Stanford eventually beat them down. Your team is getting drilled by a vastly superior machine. I know it hurts but don't blame the coaches. 11 in-a-row isn't bad.
Stanford is very talented but the reason I am blaming the coaches is because the way we recruit and we also have the worst offensive coach in college football. I saw this coming because VT has never beat a top 5 school. Beamer is not a big time coach. His teams never get it done when playing against great teams. VT won 11 in a row because the ACC is a pretty bad football conference. Sadly we get exposed in every big game and I'm tired of it.
I can't disagree with the bolded part. I don't follow them closely but that's my recollection of VaTech football over the years. However, I have serious doubts they could get a better coaching regime than Beamer. When he goes, things could get a lot worse and we'll find out of VaTech can really be a "big-time" program.
I think it would depend on who they hired. VT has let a lot of talented players get out of Virginia. Being the best team in Virginia that shouldn't happen. I actually wouldn't want Beamer to leave if he fired his OC. The big problem for VT is Bryan Stinespring is arguably the worst offensive coordinator in College Football and Beamer is too nice to fire him.
Luck is just being humble. I don't see any reasonable scenario that has him returning to Stanford next season. He is one of the strongest locks for the #1 pick in recent years, and the team with that pick also happens to be the most desperate for a quarterback. Most likely a new CBA is going to severely curtail rookie contracts, and chances are it will happen in progressive fashion so it is a statistically unfavorable move to wait out this draft. He can't afford to take the risk that Bradford took -- at least Bradford got lucky and his injury happened early enough for him to recover for the pros. And he's far more pro-ready than Bradford ever was. Humility and loyalty are one thing, but it would be downright foolish for him to not enter the draft.
Here is to Ohio ruining Arkansas' chance to ever recruit another team capable for a bowl game. O-H-I-O
Could be watching this game on HD from local networks, but noooo ESPN has to move it to the cable network. Now I'm watching **** quality on espn3.
The play was called back. Upon looking at the replay, they ruled that his wrist had touched the ground. No matter, Arkansas scored on the next play.
Ohio State up 14-7 in the second quarter. This game has had the feel of a huge game from the first minute unless yesterday's BCS game that had no atmosphere whatsoever.
