I want to put that play call and all more on Mallet. The Buckeyes showed blitz very early, and Mallet had time to change the blocking or change the play or route to get the ball out. The Buckeyes were getting pressure with only 3/4, so once blitz was shown, using the counter was necessary there even if OSU faked it, because you don't want to commit the TO. Instead, it almost looked like he was surprised there was a guy in his face. I completely disagree on the run on 1st down for the 1st play with 1 minute, no TO's and needing a TD. Yes, you are at the 20, but you cannot stop the clock if it backfires and the first play is the one play I would be make sure to check for a running play as a defense. Maybe a screen pass, but still they should have change the play based on OSU showing a strong blitz.
Go Buckeyes!!! Don't worry dude this SEC/ Big 12 territory... they will cry you a river over anyone getting anything thats not in one of those two conferences... so we say boooo hooooo... and thanks for participating.
It's hard for me to disagree. He cost the Razorbacks two of their biggest games of the year, versus Alabama and Ohio State. Hopefully his draft stock is low enough to where he will come back for one more year although the back up looked damn good against Auburn.
Also it's one way or the other. 1. You have people calling foul to the 5 Buckeyes who played but will be suspended to start the season next year and made a difference in this game. 2. Had they not played, all the Buckeye fans would have cried foul, if they lost, about how they didn't have key players. Save it.
In my mind, they should not be punished for selling untaxed gifts from the University. It made no benefit to their play nor was it a benefit for recruiting. Saying that, Mallet was rock solid when he was able to actually make a throw but so were his receivers hands. Ohio State D was the MVP of that game.
Knowing Les Miles' luck, wouldn't be surprised. Matchup to watch though is Patrick Peterson against Jeff Fuller, and unfortunately Peterson definitely has the edge. Last time Fuller went against a top notch corner was the Nebraska game and Prince Amukamara, he got held to 1 catch and 36 yards. So we shall see....I'm calling an Aggies 27-20 win
I think your score is too high and it is going to be more more like the Nebraska game. This is going to be a close low scoring game that is going to hinge on turnovers and Special Teams mistakes. I'm calling a 10-6 win either way (hoping for my Aggies because we need a win).
LSU ain't representing the SEC well enough on defense... A&M shouldn't had more than 9 pts right now. Props to A&M... I think Les Miles will find a way to win like he always does.
