Most of us know Ime AND Stone need to go, but aren't getting fired. We're stuck with this steaming pile. Oh, but we'll be sooooo much better next year! We will, but never good enough with the incompetent narcissist and ambulance chaser.
i dare u to watch last night’s game again. It’s like the movie “the ring”. Watch at your own risk. Whoever created that needs to be stopped.
Good post. Hes a defensive gimmick coach going from gimmick to gimmick. Terror Twins last year to Double Big to Wingstop. Hes just another Thibs/JVG. Play hard clap clap rawr my players are stupid. Thibs built his legacy off of Derrick Rose brilliance. Ime got this job off of Tatum/Brown. The Rockets just dont have a player that can make Ime look good. They have two left that could ascend this upcoming season but the sun has set on Sengun and Jabari.
That is why genius ran to the Worriers at the first opportunity he could....he would run to Trump if he knew election results.
I don't know why there is talk of firing Stone. I actually went back and tried to rebuild this team via the draft and couldn't really come up with a better team than what we have with the way the ping pong balls bounced. Imagine, for example, if we had drafted Scottie Barnes instead of Jalen. Is Barnes a better player? Sure. But he can't shoot. Imagine adding another non-shooter to this team. Even moves that this board hated, like the FVV and Dillon Brooks signing were undeniable successes. Those guys turned the franchise around. And the only free agency move I've seen since he's been in office that I think could have put us in a significantly better position (and I know this in hindsight) is if we had somehow managed to sign Nickeil Alexander Walker instead of Dorian Finna-Miss. It's easy to point to that sort of thing and say he should be doing a better job, but even Sam Presti, who is undeniably the best GM in the league, has made major errors. Trading away Harden instead of Serge Ibaka or Kendrick Perkins comes immediately to mind, but there was also trading away the 16th pick so we can take Sengun. Even if they didn't need Sengun, he is certainly a better asset than anything they received for him. Point being, Stone is a better than average GM who has had some hits and some misses.
Reality is that Fertitta’s ownership has been a flat out disaster….goes all the way back to the hiring of Silas. Wish Matress Mack would’ve bought us, at least he cared.
First time in 25 years, I haven't scheduled my life around Rocket's basketball. Missed the last 15 games including tonight. Life is good, now. Until major changes are made, I won't waste my time with watching this garbage.
Stone works for Ime - he does what he wants....and honestly, that may be his undoing. Ime is a lousy judge of talent, and a mediocre coach.....Stone shouldn't be doing his bidding. We should have picked up Kennard - we need to value shot making. DD
Stone hasn’t been great at his job. There is no real depth to anything Stone does as a GM. Stone and Udoka are linked together for better or worse. This isn’t as simple as “get a new coach”. The organization is where it is at (good and bad) based on decisions made and not made for the last 6 years.
Who is your Bob Meyers? Who is your Jerry West? I don’t see Curry or Thompson in Rockets red. Draymond? Bogut? Livingston? The Rockets had 4 top 4 picks in 4 years… they had #10, #16 and a handful of other picks to find their talent. That horse has already left the barn. There is no Steve Kerr that is turning this group into the Warriors.
We don't need to be GS specifically but we at the least should be seriously competitive to contend. Let's hire leaders that would truly help get us there. That's the purpose.
Stone is a joke. Forget how trash this team is, this idiot traded the Nets pick for the Suns pick for NO reason. Don't expect his sorry ass to make any moves in the offseason. He already has his excuses ready, just like he did at the deadline.
